I optioned HUD and leather interioa/chairs, but I found the cover on the HUD is plastic. I really don't get the point that why leave that piece of cover in plastic. That is very important part of the car, because when you are driving, your eyes will on the cover time to time. The plastic material cover is a collector of dust and fingerprints. It is so annoying that I can't tolerate anymore. Today I went to a local shop to upgrade the cover to be coat by alcantara. I did for steeling wheel as well. I have optioned alcantara top from porsche, so now there are quite some alcantara thing in my car, I just to share some photos with friends on this forum. I would say it improves my satisification quite much
Removing the cover is quite simple, but please notice there are two "hooks" on the highlighted(red cycle) place that you need a stick to push the hooks, then you are able to get the cover out.
This is the cover, now engineer is protecting the area will not be covered by glue.
80% finished.
DONE, and installed back. Perfect handmade.
With my alcantara A pilar, alcantara steel wheel, and alcantara cover plate. Amazing and I love it! It is so nice and highend look and feel when you are driving!
