A/C deactivated in Sport Plus Mode

Reviving and old thread. I have been getting this message more frequently lately. I live in FL and its been very hot and humid. I always Drive in Sport Plus and it comes on maybe 3-4x a week. No rhyme or reason, but mostly in the peak heat of the day and sometimes early evening. Drives me crazy as I keep my AC at 60 in the car and I do not want it off (so I have to manually click the climate icon and the AC icon). Wish I could tell the car to never disable.

It will be battery temperature, the default instrument layout shows that in the right hand dial.
Sport + closes off some cooling for better aero and for better power but if the battery gets too hot it can be damaged so since sport + assumes you are going for performance over comfort sport + chooses that compromise.

It is cool here and I never use sport + so won't happen to me, normal is the best compromise on roads in rural Oxfordshire! I would have to put a coat on if I set my A/C at 60F Mine is 22C (about 72F) all year.

I am not a boy racer, but love having the car in its sportiest settings. I cannot imagine driving in any other mode (though 2x had to use range mode as my highway driving was using a little more of the electrons and afraid I would not make it home! lol

Not sure if you have all of the performance options on your RWD but I have a 4S with all of the performance options…..in sports + mode the car is just bonkers. This could be great for brief short track racing but I can’t see using it for normal commuting.
