A few more simple/confused/quick questions for my “Brothers-in-Arms”!!

4. My rear view camera comes on at random times while driving. Either when stopped at stoplight or following a car, the camera/3D view (everything that shows when the car is in reverse) comes on. Are my front sensors too sensitive? Is this related to why I’m having problems with (#3 question below) about Park Assist? I do wash my car frequently so it’s not dirty. Anyone else have this problem?

5. Central Locking – Is there a way to stop the car from locking when it’s parked in my garage and I have not locked it. I seem to recall a setting for this. When I pull in my garage and exit the car, the car is unlocked (which is fine b/c it’s in the safety of my garage). If I left something in it, I come back into the garage and the car has locked itself. Usually I don’t grab the key, so I have to go back inside and unlock it to gain access. I’ve got the entry set to Driver door only, by the way. Is there a way to not have the car lock UNLESS I lock it from either the key or the app?

6. Send destination to vehicle – Is there any way to shorten the duration of when it actually hits the vehicle. When I find the destination on the app and send it to the car, it takes about 15-20 minutes. WiFi is on in my house and in the car so I’m not sure why it takes so long. Anyone else have the same problems.

Still looking for a definitive answer for #1. Any dealers or techs on here that can verify that I’m not harming the car leaving it in raised position.

1. I love the Air suspension and use Lift mode when I enter my driveway so I don’t scrape. Since I’m going slow and pull into my garage, the car is still in raised position when I turn it off and exit the car. Is there any concern leaving it that way, especially overnight? Do I need to “lower” the car back to normal before I turn it off?

3. I have Remote Park Assist and I don’t know if it’s me or is the feature horrible. I had it on my ’20 M850 and it worked really well. I find it has difficulty detecting parking spots, once it finds a spot and you hit start, it doesn’t parallel park very well. I used it yesterday and when it “finished”, the car was about 1.5 feet away from the curb. My wife just looked at me and laughed. Also, a few times it was doing it’s thing and the car came to jolting spot as one of the sensors detected something. There was nothing in the way! Any suggestions/comments on how to make this experience better?

Thanks to all in advance as you all help out tremendously!!

#4 - it's probably normal - yeah it happens when ever the sensor "see" something and you're going slow enough - there might be something wrong but I doubt it - happens to me also.

#5 - I'll see what I can find - but mine will remain unlocked indefinitely when I walk away from it

#6 - porsche app infrastructure needs improvement - I doubt there is anything you can - it's out of your hands

#1 - no reason to lower the suspension unless you want to - it's fine to leave it up

#3 - porsche park assist is just not that good - again I doubt there is anything wrong you are doing or can do to make it better - few if any people purchase a Porsche for it's self parking abilities - I've learned to ignore the feature and enjoy driving the car at speeds too fast to worry about parking.

I check settings vehicle locking - and found no particluar setting required for 'leaving the vehicle" unlocked

my car is unlocked now and has been for quite some time - I could find no setting in the menus to "enable" it to remain unlocked, but I might be missing something

but in my case the car will not lock unless I do so with the fob…otherwise it just remains unlocked.

also I haven't driven the Taycan for a few days (new 911 Turbo S to play with) and it's been in it's raised suspension settings since I last parked it

so - it's lifted, and unlocked in my garage - and seems happy to stay that way.

5. The handles just retract but the car is not locked. The only time the car will self lock is when you unlock it and don't open any door, frunk or trunk. Locks within 45 secs and the door mirrors won't have folded.

Did you try simply pulling on the door handle?

Thanks for the help!! This forum is SO much more helpful and is my first place to turn with questions.
daveo4EV you are so right, this car is made to be driven and I'm not going to worry about the parking feature. I'll worry more about not getting a speeding ticket! I specced the car to control costs and the Park Assist was an option I really wanted. Definitely not worth the extra $1600.
W1NGE you are right. I just ASSUMED that since the handles retracted that it was locked. Thanks for helping me figure that out. You know what happens when you assume...

I'm not going to worry about the car "sleeping" in raised mode. It seems that many on here do the same thing so if my Taycan develops an issue b/c of it, everyone's will have the same issue...and I'll be in good company.

I spec'd parking assist on my 2022 911 TurboS Cab - wanted to play with it - was hoping it might be almost as bad as Tesla's "summon" feature (which actually occasionally is actually useful) - OMG Porsche's implementation is sooooooooo bad - it's horrific - it is factually worse than Tesla's summon/auto-park features which is saying quite a lot - I have no idea what they are thinking selling this feature - it just boggles my mind as to where/when/how they think that feature of the vehicle was ready to ship and be used by customers...I too am disappointed in playing with it and amazed Porsche released it into the wild - and it is bad enough if I believed I could make any progress would ask for my money back...

be disappointed - be frustrated, but in my experience don't expect it to work and it's hopeless to try and get Porsche to make it work - they are probably clueless as to how bad it is and what would need to be done to fix it…it's just so so bad.

Misery loves company!!!! :) Have fun with your Turbo S Cab!!

I am curious if anyone from Porsche Corporate reads these Boards and will make note. I hope so and I hope it isn't just a "place to complain" to make us feel better.

Sorry I can't answer your question directly because my RWD is somewhere in the Atlantic, but consider letting your insurance company know that your 4S locks automatically. Your rate might go down.

I think they do - what they do with the information however is quite murky…
