Now it has finally warmed up in the UK (about 25c today), Ive noticed the car has really struggled to cool the interior. Aircon definitely isn't in eco mode. Grey car, black seats, tinted windows, pan roof.

I'm sure most of the Texan's and Californians on here would view these temperatures as quite cool, so I can only imagine they would be really yelling if the aircon is coping like mine is.

One thing I did notice is the air temperature gauge in the car is about inline with what weather apps are calling the temperature. However, we all know cars that have been sitting in the sun get quite a bit hotter than that and my other car, parked next to it, has the temperature about 10c higher.

So, would it make sense that the aircon isn't working very hard as the car thinks it's cooler than it actually is - i've no idea if the aircon would be using the same temperature sensor? Or perhaps the aircon is just crap, or maybe it needs some maintenance?

Short version:
Everyone happy with power of their aircon?
Freezes my hands. Maybe get yours checked out..

Tried it on max ac. If anything seems to run colder/cool car quicker if I set to 16c with the fan on manual, but highest speed.

I agree, 19-20c is about right. However, having to set it to 16c for 20 minutes to get the car cool enough to then slowly raise the ac temperature to about 19~20 for the rest of the trip.
Most thermostats go maximum until target is reached.

I set mine at 21C summer and winter and it just gets there as quick as it can which my Taycan has been fine for even on Eco. The blast from the vents is definitely pretty chill until the set temperature is reached.

My air con was set at focused when I got the car and apart from a brief trial of the diffuse and individual, to see what they do, I liked that best.

The manual does say that setting the temperature control temporarily to a lower or higher value does not cool or heat the car any quicker.

I have Auto set on the settings and 21C on the temperature and it works fine for me.

If it is cooler outside than in after parking in the sun I always open the windows for a while to let the hot air out but I have always done that.

About 75F here this week; felt a bit chilly in the car (have it set to 71F) so I actually had to turn down my AC.

I run mine in ECO mode because it’s too powerful in normal. I do have the insulated glass and window tint though…

South Florida here, hot and humid nine months a year….I have to turn it down once the AC gets going….tint helps, but the AC is ice cold.

Best air conditioning I ever had. Here it is over 45 Celsius and a dark paint it work so well. 5 minutes prior to get into the car and it is nice and cool.

Was your battery temperature a little high by any chance? Either because of fast driving or fast charging?
AFAIK, the battery and the interior share a fairly powerful AC compressor, but the car will divert significant cooling power to the battery if it is hot.

another factor that may impair the car’s AC performance isif you’re stuck in low speed traffic; in this case the AC radiator doesn’t get enough airflow to dump the heat in the outside environment

Thanks for your ideas.

it hasn’t been after fast charging (I rarely do), just after the car has been in the sunshine for a few hours, unused. After starting I think generally been 30-60mph free flowing traffic.

You are not alone. Mine blows luke warm to cool on Max A/C, takes ages to cool the cabin down. Seems very poor.

Contrast with the cheapo Toyota we hired in Crete recently - which was arctic in no time!

Going to get it checked out at the first service soon.
