Air conditioning turns itself on?

Seems like often, when I turn off the climate control, it will randomly come back on.
Most recently was yesterday, I had turned it off, driving with windows open, then was sitting in Park, quietly listening to radio (since Apple music icon missing ) waiting to pick someone up. After they got in car and I drove away, I noticed it on again, seems like maybe happened right when I shifted into Drive. Is this expected for some reason?

Another a/c related question I guess I know the answer too, but - Is there a way to easily leave the ac running when parking the car? Say I just want to run into store for a few minutes? Basically looking for a shortcut to parking/locking then turning on the preconditioning with the app.

I haven’t tried it, but could you park and lock the car without turning it off? Or press the pre heat button in the car before you get out (would save you having to get the app open)?

Preheat then locking will cancel the operation. Can only be done via app.

Ok. I do find it odd that if I get in the car a while before a timer is set the car will start the pre heat cycle while I am driving. Another bug I suppose.

Nope. This is a setting in the PCM to start preheat when you unlock the driver's door and open it.

It is, but that is disabled. If enabled then the car would start a preheat cycle when I have left something in it and go out to retrieve it - a completely useless option for most people. The car still seems to start a timer if I am in it when the timer is due to come on.

It only kicks off for a brief period. The feature will attempt the preheat operation 3 times before disabling to cater for this situation. Locking the car will cancel at any point.

Aside from that what timers do you have active when driving?

No active timers usually. When it was colder I had it set for when I left work on a weekday timer. I got out early one day and noticed the preheat timer came on while I was driving. Turned on the heated seats. Seemed odd behaviour when I was already driving the car.

Potentially if it was < 3C outside then the heated wheel / seats could switch on automatically.

When I have the A/C off and my daughters start playing with the heated seat buttons in the back seat, the A/C automatically turns on. Very annoying because I often have the windows down when this happens.
