Ambient Lighting Failure

Had my CT4S for 5 weeks and absolutely loving it. But yesterday, fault developed with the ambient lightning. In dynamic mode, it will change colour when changing track, but will only stay on for about 3-4 seconds. Then it turns itself off.
When moving from dynamic to a set colour, that set colour will then show for about 3-4 seconds before turning off.
Had a drive this morning and unfortunately exactly the same.
Any ideas, or a call to the OPC?

When you say "turn off" you mean that the color reverts to the original color or completely goes dark? If it is the latter, I can say with certainty that it has not happened to me. I have to admit I don't pay enough attention the actual color to notice if it reverts inappropriately.

It goes completely dark. Zero lighting at all. Whether I have chosen a set colour or selected dynamic.

OK. Definitely not normal behavior. Have it looked at when you can; fortunately not a debilitating issue.

Hi! I’m new to the forum (2023 CT4S) and I experienced this same issue today. I reset the system via engineering mode and there was no change. Earlier today, the ambient lighting would only work for a few seconds after I toggled the “on/off” switch for the ambient lighting, or changed the color. It seems like it could be related to a light sensing of some sort, however, because when I pulled into my (dark) garage, the ambient lighting turned back on and stayed on. Has anyone experienced this, and is there a fix that you know of? I’m going to see if the ambient light issue occurs tomorrow. Thank you!

Ambient lighting is light sensitive, and doesn't stay on unless it's dark enough outside.

Thanks for that! I noticed that when the lights are not on “auto” and you manually turn the headlights on, the ambient lights turn on. I’m glad that nothing is broken, because I had a computer system issue when I first got the car.
