Looks like 360-370 motorway in ok weather (though it was horrible for carwow) given 2 youtube tests. Allowing for 20% reduction, i should still be not far off.

Carwow didn't even have it in range mode.
You will not achieve anywhere that level of range in UK and especially not in winter.

The range estimate varies constantly and is dependent on many factors.

Range mode does little and is generally more efficient to coast.

Motorway driving is the worst environment as it is typically constant high speed and no opportunities for recuperation.

I used to lose circa 50-60 miles in colder weather in my Genesis GV60 77kwh. 280 wltp, 250 actual motorway (ok weather), 200 ish cold weather.

No heated seats or wheel on that.... not a wise lease that one. Great quality, but totally wrong spec which I only realised when it was too late ?

@W1NGE could not have summed it up any better. Range mode does close to nothing and the only reason I think it exists is to set the car up for maximum efficiency with one setting with the most useful is limiting your speed which you can do in any mode driving slower.

Spot the EV driver on the motorway with the steamed up windscreen, doing 50 mph trying save range ?

I had to wear thick socks, gloves and occasionally put the demister on... waste of money that was.

Heated wheel and seats are 12v powered and highly efficient so ideal for use in winter.

There was alot of contradictory information on the internet when I ordered the GV60, so when it rocked up without heated seats (absolute top spec car) i was gutted.

Cost me alot to get out of the lease, so if I go EV again following this car, I'm making sure I don't screw up.

Presumably you’re only doing that commute once per week?

Do you have access to a charger at work or nearby?

It’s crazy how much lease costs have gone up by. When I got quotes for a second d CT4S the price went up almost 50pct vs a lease I took out a year earlier (had to change car as changed jobs) for the same car. Impact of higher prices, much higher depreciation as well as higher interest rates.

In the end I decided to buy nearly new instead - just couldn’t justify the value of the lease or risk that if I changed jobs again I would be left with a the balance of outstanding payments and potentially no tax deduction. Worth checking what your work situation is - some employers take the risk while others leave you unprotected.

Tax deductibility is great but too many leasing companies are taking the proverbial by swallowing up a big chuck of the saving as a profit margin. It still works out ok for most but not if you lose that tax deductibility.

They are definitely taking the proverbial with the price, but even bang average EV's are up over 1k per month now ?

I do the commute, or will return to doing the commute, upto 5 times a month, typically 15k per annum.

There are chargers on work property, but not where we typically park whilst at work and they're charging a fair bit to use them.

I used to stop off at ionity in Milton Keynes, but they only have 4 chargers (or did have) and they were getting busier and busier... and they put the prices up, even with a manufacturer backed discount ?

You're reminding me of why I ditched the car and went back to a V8 ?

Porsche are already heavily discounting stock 2024 taycans, but the figures are unfortunately still alot more than with salary sacrifice (that i can see).

Shame the IONITY chargers are busy. I typically use the ones in Perth and often it’s just me or one other car there.

You should be ok to do the trip on one charge in the new models but may need to stop for a quick top up in winter - probably not much longer than a comfort break in any case. Charing even at higher prices shouldn’t break the bank if only getting a little boost to get you home.

Do Porsche owners still get discounted rates at Ionity?

A rough build of mine is

PS6U45U7

Will have a proper poke around the cabin when I go to Porsche and see the quality of the base trim etc

This looks pretty sharp. I wonder why you need a rear middle seat with 4+1 option?

I don't know, for my nieces perhaps lol if I don't spec it, there will be a time I need it ?

I probably don't need it in truth.

Not sure if that build is black racetex, as I prefer that over slate looking at the configurator. But the slate might help lighten the interior.

Three caveats:

1. Everything surrounding color is totally subjective.
2. The following story involves two cars with relatively dark exterior paint in early evening / dusk.
3. The judges are relatively short (160-165cm).

That being said, I have a friend with a black GTS who drove down from Vancouver BC to visit us here in the San Francisco area, and we took turns driving four people around in each Taycan. The two who were always passengers took turns being in both front and back.

Major salient differences for our purposes here: the black one has black racetex interior, 18-way seats, and the glass roof. Mine has Viola Metallic exterior, two-tone racetex interior that is primarily slate, 14-way seats, and the metal roof with slate racetex liner.

The general consensus was that the black interior felt more cozy, and the slate interior more spacious. I realize that this flies in the face of all of the online reviews saying that the glass roof makes things feel larger inside, especially in the back seat. The time of day might come into play here, blunting the perceived advantage of the glass roof, as at dusk the slate might look brighter than the exterior surroundings would.

I would recommend sitting in different seat positions (or having people who would be your regular passengers doing this) in a light and dark interior and seeing how you/they perceive this effect.

I wouldn’t necessarily be put off the glass roof. Makes a big difference to the lightness of the cabin. Cracks would generally be covered by warranty or insurance. Bear in mind that forums don’t fairly represent the failure rates. Having said that, mine did crack - but all replaced under warranty with no issues.
OTOH it is quite expensive, looks quite a lot worse and the extra light is only really evident for rear seat passengers (I did a comparison when speccing my car) and if light in the back is important it both looks better and saves money to not have hideous "privacy glass" instead.

My sculpted ally roof is one of the best decisions I made on my spec and I am glad I chose it every time I look at my car.

That looks like a great spec to me.
Love the look though I was too tight to go for crests in interior or coloured belts!

Overall I chose an unconventional set of options to suit me and not waste money on stuff of limited value to me. I am still delighted by mine after 2 years ownership. I didn't drive my Ferrari once last summer, which is a first.

I am a music lover and have good quality sound at home but never found a car system worth spending money on. I compared Bose and standard and at the volume I listen standard had fairly low colouration and an even frequency response I thought the Bose faux surround quite effective but not worth it, the SQ was not better.

The only thing I, personally, would want would be the ventilated massage seats, our most appreciated option overall, and I would drop the coloured belts and headrest crest to save money, but that is just me.
