Is this just another eg of Porsche not including stuff that you get as standard on low to mid priced cars?

Figured this light must be a blind spot warning light but it doesn't seem to work. Was it something on the spec list where Porsche were inviting me to bend over and adopt the position that I missed.

Gotta say that having stuff like auto dim mirrors as an option is royally taking the piss

No, the blindspot warning is a couple of LED’s in the mirror glass. What you see there is the red flashing lights gor the alarm system

No. What you need to be annoyed about is Lane Change Assist, a £500+ option that has lights in the door mirrors.

hmm. tbh at that price I think I would have skipped it. first world problems for sure but it does leave a nasty taste in the mouth. Any idea what this light is for?

As per Scandinavian's post above, I think it's the alarm armed flashing red light.

100% agree. It's not cutting edge technology or anything. It's not bling or cool or icing on the cake. This sort of safety kit should be standard, especially when you discover just how big the blind spot (on the CT at least) is.

I had a holiday rental Nissan quashqai, and we all know hire companies don't add extras. The safety stuff and lane assistants, adaptive cruise control etc were all included as standard. In fact i wonder if the porsche options would add up to more than the total cost of the Nissan...

It needs over £10k spending on extras to get a Taycan to match the standard spec of our Toyota Prius PHEV.
The £500 option doesn’t give cross traffic alert that the Toyota does anyway. I did stump up for it thinking it did :(

Huh?

As others have just pointed out this is your alarm indicator when armed.

It is cheap and nasty however!

Review the PGTK App / Drivers Manual for more visuals and videos on the LCA option - a bit more up market than what you thought!

As an aside I had a loaner 718 last week and it had LCA which didn't have the icons in the mirrors but 3 red strip leds in the interior mirror trim - did not look much better than the photo above!

....or, your Prius was overpriced by £10K at the outset :giggle:

Well my budget covered a Panamera Sport Turismo plug in hybrid, which also needed that sort of additional expenditure to match the Prius features.
I chose the Prius because it was 600kg lighter and smaller for the local parking spaces.
I still like it a lot and won’t sell it unless the Taycan is a worthwhile amount better - I fear it will be slower on long journeys.

Yep, all extra on a Porsche - I didn't add any of this stuff to my Panamera ST.
