Hi team, I drove through some very heavy rain on the motorway on Thursday and the cabin started to smell of burning...

Drove it the remaining few miles without incident, keeping windows open. Called Porsche assist (the AA in the UK) who came out, smelt the cabin and would not even turn it on - called out for a lifter. Has been recovered to Porsche Reading for an inspection but no smoke, no continuing smell and it could be driven onto the recovery vehicle.

Anyone seen/smelt this before?

Thanks!

Oh that doesn't sound good at all.

Smoke and not steam?

Take it to your Porsche dealer. I can’t think of something that should smell while driving. This doesn’t sound good

sat with them now.

They are going to apply new software and some other recall also.

Let's see!

out of interest, did it smell outside the car too, or just inside?

So it turns out that a label had been installed over the cooling vent for the seat cooling fan. Fan overheated and burned-out. Bizarre first-world problem fault. Even though car was May 2022 and had colour options it is apparently due a major software update and new motor will take a week to come over from Germany. Will be interested to see if there is any noticeable change on the PCM.

No change in the PCM post update.

But wow - 3 weeks in the Range Rover and you really appreciate the speed, handling, noise, and just how well put together the Taycan is. The RR is stately and wafty - the Taycan just kills hits all the notes. Tight tiger that is as comfortable as it is fast.

That is all - just wanted to balance the negative with some positive!
