Changing window trim to black?

My car has arrived with silver window trim. Is it possible to change it to black? My wife likes silver and thinks it goes better with ice grey but every Taycan that I see seems to have black window trim?

Personally I prefer the silver but gloss black became trendy a while back and suits some colours but not all IMHO.

It may be replaceable (at a price) - gloss black would provide a good contrast with Ice Grey - consult with your dealer.

Get it vinyled. Cheap and if done well will be barely distinguishable from factory.

That is what my dealer suggested. Quoted £5-600. Just nice to know I can do it if I want to.

That seems very high for vinyl wrapping just window trim

This is very weird. I thought they all changed from silver to flat black, but it appears the Turbo (not S) versions only are still silver…

Do this yourself if it’s just the trim. You can get wrap off Amazon or eBay for under a $100

It is black on the base model, GTS and Turbo S and silver on 4S and Turbo.
No idea why.

I guess the design language assumes silver for luxury and gloss black for sportiness.
And then they load the configurator with swathes of gloss black cost options because they know people are prepared to pay for them.

I really like matt black window surrounds and the black model name on the Mamba I have chosen, but not enough to have chosen to pay extra for them!
I am old enough to just bother about me and have spent some extra on the interior but apart from only liking the CT wheels not paid for any external embellishment - after all its the interior I see...

To get them wrapped in gloss black should cost you around £150 to £250. There are lots of companies doing this now and it should take a couple of hours.

Thank you but as the car is brand new (I haven’t even collected it yet) it makes sense to go through a company recommended by my Porsche dealer don’t you think?(even if it costs more?)

Yes most definitely worth paying the extra.

Did you order the car? Gloss black is a factory option. If you don't want to paint or vinyl you could always purchase the black trim.
