I have been using a manual 'fuel' filler cap for 25 years and never once thought, "jees, I wish this thing was motorised!". I agree that its just something to potentially go wrong when you most need it to work, i.e. when you need to recharge, but at the same time I can see the little black plastic bit does add an element of detail which is quite nice in that area of the car. For me though, it just wasn't important in my spec.
