Charging information in the App

Ok, color me confused. I know the Taycan actually controls AC charging and the EVSE simply supplies the juice to the car. Given this truth, why can I only see my AC charging history if I use the Porsche EVSE and not a third party EVSE? If the car controls charging speed, time, and percentage, shouldn't it provide that info directly to the app (if I have an active Porsche Connect subscription) rather than only through Porsche's branded EVSE?

This seems like a simple enough thing and I feel like I must be missing something obvious... or the app programmers were. For reference, charging with my PMCC shows the charge history but charging with my Grizzl-E does not and I can't add it as equipment in the app.

Please feel free to let me know if I'm the problem because I'd love to hear that the fix is easy to do

If you have the PMCC you will find the charging details in the app
If you have the other PMC Plus or whatever it is called, you will not see the details in the app.

The same is true if you use any other charging service, AC or DC, outside of the Porsche Charging Service. Use a Tesla SuC gor example , and you will not see any data.

Why Porsche have implemented this in this way is just par for the course. I do not think they had any clue whatsoever about EV and charging, when designing the system. And not sure they understand any more now. Just look at the complete lack of OTA updates. Every small update is a few hours wasted going to the dealer!

I guess the best way to describe this is that I understand if but I don't get it. All this data is generated from the car yet is required to be sent through the Porsche EVSE to reach the app? This just makes no logical sense from an engineering and programming standpoint... to me.

You need to use the Porsche charging ecosystem in full to capture AC charging data (no Public AC or DC charging history is ever logged or accessible in the My Porsche app). Data for the PMC+, PMCC, PWCC etc are stored in the cloud and not the app or car against your primary Porsche Connect ID.

Why? Porsche wants you to use their ecosystem and no one else's is all (not a technical hurdle per se).

In the US, Electrify America DC charging sessions do appear inside the app, so that's nice. For everything else, I guess I'll just heavy sigh and accept what is. ?

As far as I can glean, allowing you access to this info is a 'cost' to Porsche - or, rather, an opportunity for differentiation which then turns into the possibility of extracting more profit. With my lowly PMC+, I don't have access to charging data from the mobile app, although I can see it in the web app embedded in the EVSE (last 3 sessions only). It appears this info is accessible to you from a PMCC, which tells me all data is collected and uploaded, but only "premium customers" get to see it (those who paid for a higher-spec EVSE).

Thats not the same thing - we have that too with Ionity (EA by any other name) - and is separate.
