Hello, according to my electrician, I am wired for to charge my Taycan but I am a little lost. I have the four-prong 240w plug, and I plugged that into the outlet, but it ends with some sort of female plug socket ... but my charging cable also ends with a female plug socket. Do I need some sort of adapter to connect the two to charge?

Thank you!

Read the Owner's manual!

A picture of what you have would help.

What EVSE do you have - this won't matter but helps build a picture of your set up.

Plug your EVSE (charger) into the outlet then connect the EVSE to the car (all connections are the same for EVSE to car when home charging).

We are happy to help but what you are saying does not make sense without pictures.
All I can tell is that you did not go direct and installed a 240V outlet to plug your EVSE into.
Therefore, please show us a picture of the outlet that has been installed by the electrician, show us your EVSE that would come with different types of plug configuration. Then show us the other side of the EVSE plug that goes to the car.

Given the title of the post it sounds like no EVSE (wallbox) is in play and that a straight connection to the car is being attempted. This would need a specific type of cable such as this (UK)- https://voldt.co.uk/products/3-pin-ev-granny-charger-adjustable-8a-13a-2-8kw-charging-cable

Not ideal.
