I have had problems to connect to the car since 23rd January. No updates on the web page for drives, charge levels, mileage etc. Same as a lot of us are experiencing. I suspect I have been troubled by the OTA module failure, but my Porsche Centre can not take the car in before the 12th April!!! To diagnose the fault. I have never in my 50 years of car ownership had such bad service with any other car brand, German, British, French or Swedish. And this should be a Luxury Car?

I noticed on the Forum that there was a discussion about updates to the app, so I installed the latest iOS version. And wanted to make sure that there was no setting issue etc in the app. Once installed there was no change , still no communication with the car, which aligns with a faulty OTA module.

However I discovered something quite peculiar in the Connect app settings, under User Defined Smart PreCool/Heat!

Once you open the information button under smart precool/heat, it starts to list the conditions needed to activate the feature. One necessary condition is that the car is connected to WiFi or Bluetooth?? But the car has no way of connecting to a home WiFi or public WiFi? So what is Porsche really saying here. Seems this is a mess with the aspects of the Connected Car??

Has anybody any view on what this is all about??

No. Have you tried logging out, quitting the app and logging in again ? After they changed my OTA module for the second time, it was showing a red circle most of the time, no connection to PCM, corrected by logging in. Since the update, it works most of the time.

It could be a typo!

Note that Russian vehicles can connect to public hotspots and can't create one within the car itself. Rest of the world is limited to within the car.

If not a typo then perhaps this feature is intended for Russian vehicles.
