I just discovered the rear window crack this week. My 2021 Turbo S was less than 2 weeks, and 350 miles. Fortunately, the Service Manager agreed that there was no apparent cause, and agreed to cover it as a warrantee issue. He ordered the replacement, but so far, I have not heard back.
My South African dealer received the new rear window from Germany. He installed it and all is fine. Only complaint is that it took almost a month from time of ordering the rearview window to it being received by the dealer.
My dealer ordered the wrong part, so I am still awaiting the window. I am more than annoyed, that they offered me a choice of expediting the window from Germany if I would pay $143, or wait 3-4 weeks. Seems like all parts have to come over from Germany. I told the service manager that for a $212,000 car, they should be willing to expedite the window free of charge. Very disappointing.
Agree! Seems very petty, particularly if the crack was not your fault.
Disappointedly, I found the same yesterday. Full crack top to bottom near the middle. MY21 4S with 700 easy miles on it. Landed stateside late January. I haven’t talked to the dealer yet.
Same answer for me. Service manager said they’ve seen a few come through already and ordered me new glass from Germany under warranty. Happy it’s still drivable while I wait.
I noticed my crack on 2/22. Visited the dealer on 2/28. They agreed to replace under warranty. On 4/2 I, I called and was told they ordered the wrong part, and the right part had to come from Germany. On 4/29 I was contacted to make an appointment for the replacement. They couldn't get me in until 5/17. 3 months to replace a window on a $212,000 car is, in my opinion, unacceptable service.
I didn’t get any paperwork. Just drove it into Porsche Bellevue and the service manager said they’ve seen this before and ordered it on the spot. Haven’t had an update yet.
