After 3.5 weeks I just picked my car back up after having a couple months worth of issues addressed and a tire replaced. One of the issues was keyless entry not working.

When I picked up the car in November keyless entry was spotty, working about 2/3 of the time. At the end of November I installed a FITCAMX dashcam and everything was fine until March when keyless entry stopped working entirely. The cord from the camera to the rain sensor is wrapped in ferrite tape, but the connection and obviously camera itself is not.

I’ve heard of RF from dashcams bugging out systems before but the timing isn’t adding up to me. I removed the camera last night and let it sit until this morning and still no keyless entry. Anybody having problems with keyless entry and dashcams?

I have a dash cam, BlackVue, and a radar detector right next to my rearview mirror, and the door handles pop up as I approach the car. The only issue I’m getting is if I lock it using the button from the door handles it immediately unlocks so I use the remote. I don’t know if it’s related to the those two though.

Have been using the FitCamX for a couple of months now and zero interference issues - there are quite a few others who have also installed this kit w/o interference issues - works flawlessly - I also have every tech option other than Innodrive in the car so lots to interfere with if the dash cam was to be an issue, but its not.

Strongly suspect it is not the Dashcam that is causing this issue - further suspect an 'easy-out' suggestion for a tech to blame a 3rd party install vs figuring out what exactly is the problem. And of course your own test pretty moves proves that.

Agree which is why I wanted to poll the forums before I elevate the issue. I'm going to remove it again when I bring it in.

The only car I had an issue in was my F80 M3 and that's when I started wrapping all of my cables with Ferrite tape. The same tech also told me that they couldn't diagnose my squeaky drivers seat...I got in the car and showed him, and they still told me they couldn't "independently" reproduce the issue. I get that the car was in for a list of 7 things, including 3 software updates but I'm a little salty right now.

I can understand entirely - not impressed with your service guys at this point but yes, removing it and demonstrating that the issue still exists right move - essentially doing his job for him!

Wow your service centre is lazy. They couldn't have easily unplugged the camera and checked? Make sure you give them/porsche this feedback on the survey they send you.

I have had dashcams (all blackvue) on all my cars for the last 10 years or so, never had issues with keyless entry on any of them.

The plot thickens. I've become pretty good friends with most of the sales staff at the dealership I picked up my Cayenne and Taycan from.

Not only did they not take anything apart, aside from resetting the PCM and unpairing and repairing the keys they did zero diagnostic work. I also had a pretty nasty sidewall nail so they replaced the tire...with a completely different tire than was on the rest of the car.

Needless to say, it's going to a new dealership to get this keyless entry stuff worked out.
