I've been reviewing a few threads on dashcam options and note that a few people have gone for the Fitcamx, some have gone for a Blackvue and I think I have seen the Thinkcam as well.

I contacted a local electrical shop and they recommended the Thinkcam Q1000 or Momento M8.

Hsa anyone installed either and what are your opinions?

Thank you

I have installed the FitcamX about 2 months ago and love it since. Invisible, easy to install, good video quality. I can do a picture or a few, if you feel like it helps you "look at it"...

Thank you. Couple of questions, how do you replay video, is it on your phone or do you remove the SD card (or both)?

Do you power it from the 12V battery and if so, any concerns about draining the battery?

Pics would be helpful :)

It is powered from the rain sensor, so no extra/external wires needed. It is active only when the car is active, as far as I remember. But there will be more on their website I suppose. Maybe you can make it watch your car when stationary.

You can replay videos on mobile (in its own app) or by taking out the SD card (which was included), and also you can view the video realtime. Connection to the camera is by its own wifi.

Delivery goes from China directly. At least in Europe.

Here's a pretty informative installation video fromFitcamX that I used to mount it.

And for my photos, let's wait for warmer weather as now the Taycan is all frozen :) Ping me later ?

I installed the Nexar dashcam, which also allows you to monitor it live, i.e. when you have your car in for service, or valet park it. And it will record any incidents, so someone bumping the car when parking will have a recording of it. Plus it's connected to the OBD and not a USB plug.

FitCamX looks the best but the hardware and software is dismal. Very hard to connect to with the phone reliably. Also, sometimes after a few months, you check the card and find out it has not been recording at all for a couple months. Currently using Blackvue DR-970x with much better results.
