I have been feeling a bit the same.
Loads of people who ordered their car after I did are driving around in theirs already and I still haven’t got a build date nor have I been contacted by the dealer about the April fix date suggested last month.

If it wasn’t for the fact that there is not a current car on sale which appeals to me at all other than the Taycan I may have cancelled already.
I was given a May build date for my CT4S back in early Feb which obviously went out the window with the shutdown etc. I gave the dealer my locked in configuration at the beginning of this month, as planned, so he will be ready to go as soon as he has a new date. Paid my deposit on 8th Aug 21, and spoke to the dealer today and he has no news. I have a number of options on my car to make it ‘just right’ for me, and like you, Frank, nothing for sale touches ‘my car’. I haven’t really considered cancelling, but I do regularly check what is available and if something came up I that was a good compromise…………..?

Yes but the used market is stupid expensive and if you need financing it is truly a wript
Had a call to say car can be collect from dealership in a couple of days then another call to say it can’t be released as it’s missing a semiconductor?! Has anyone experience of how long a delay this could be? Dealership say they have no idea and zero information from Porsche. Maybe Porsche UK could have some information.
This is my nightmare. You wait all this time and then... Bam, no siree. Mine has been in the country for a week and not heard anything...

Paid my deposit in Sep 21, told Q1 delivery, then it was pushed back to May with everything going on. Today I got the dreaded email and this snapshot from my dealer. This could possibly end up being 12 months from order to delivery. The worst experience I’ve ever had. I’m on the cusp of cancelling and getting a used, just done waiting now.

My last update had been 'delivery May 22' but today have been informed that is the new estimated build date with delivery most likely July 22 if the build date is met.

I understand the impact of Ukraine on builds but pretty disappointed that the car hadn't been allocated a build slot before March 22. I am fairly ambivalent about the car now hence why considering the order cancellation.
I'm in almost exactly the same situation! Ordered mine RWD in late May 21 lease through ALD Automotive through SS scheme. I'm now being told August. Shocking really. I'm too far in to bin it now and the waiting list for other decent cars on SS lease is pretty crap. Will begrudgingly wait it out now.

Ordered CT Turbo S in September, will be surprised if I get it this year. Dealer as much in the dark as I am. First time Porsche buyer, don't think I'll be back

I understand the delays but the lack of communication to dealers and by dealers is apauling. I got a build slot for an ST in March with April delivery but all anyone can tell me that i have a build slot somewhere. There seems to be no consistency in communication or more importantly cars now starting to come through. Given I could be waiting 6-12 months I’ve bought something else in the mean time - whether i go ahead with the order when i actually get a date remains to be seen!

Totally agree its a mega communication problem from Porsche as Dealers just not kept informed but to be far semi-conductors supply chains info is almost non existent and Ukraine issues have compounded supply chain hence info not good

Can concur. I've had a BMW on order and we have been getting fortnightly updates with (moving) ETAs throughout. Meanwhile Porsche dealers are trying but seemingly completely in the dark about how allocations come or ETAs. In seven months, I've received one email. It's been a bad experience for me as a first time Porsche buyer (which is a bit of a shame considering buying a Porsche is a bit of a dream come true for most people).
I feel sorry for the dealer as it's becoming increasingly frustrating and there is nothing they can do.

The fact the dealers don't have ETAs also reinforces what everyone here suspects about the way allocations are assigned seemingly at random and that there is no national queue and you can be penalised for choosing a dealer over another.

This sounds like a similar theme: radio silence.

Germany it seems doesn't update UK HQ who then can't update the dealers.

But then who here has the most to lose? The dealer.

They're chasing their commission so naturally will fob off the customer or warn of radio silence once you've lobbed the £5k at them.

Yes it's annoying but I've always anticipated two things happening for my purchase: 1. Price hike 2. Six month longer wait (which means 18 to 20 month delivery time).

Both are now happening coupled with Porsche HQ being useless about estimated delivery dates.

Dealer contact in recent months? Nothing. But he's very good and did explain as much. I'm not in the UK until summer regardless so that makes it easier to forget about it as much as my dealer has...

Patience will pay off.

Sounds crazy but can take up to 2wks to arrive at dealers from the port that's the norm but will be worth the wait you will love the car
