Did UK EV insurance just get way cheaper?

cannot believe what I'm hearing. My 23 GTS is coming on at over 2.2k. Renewal in Feb. Was 1.7k last year. Gutted

Insurance is a scam, but a necessary evil, we all know it.

How can admiral direct try to charge me £2.2k or so, yet through a comparison site £1k cheaper?

I've swapped my GAP policy to Totallossgap, 75k vs 50k cover and significantly cheaper.

Just curious what you set your voluntary excess to? My renewal is around £1k with admiral and saga
50 years old, 11 years NCB, 20k miles, on drive.
Moving house in three weeks to a better area and locked garage and the policy goes up ?

FYI, The voluntary excess on my £285 SAGA policy is £1000.
