Do you guys think it is possible to retrofit the new e-shift onto existing cars?

I can easily write off the UI updates, and I don't care about the new active sound.

But as someone who still occasionally finds myself pulling the phantom paddles in the air, the e-shift is a real heartbreaker.

I have the latest 2026 model—which makes it hurt even more.

I love mine without.

Might be worth you gettting yourself a track car if you miss the gear changes

My disappointment isn't the e-shit but I really do like the red circle and even the numbers (something like a Rolls Royce power reserve would be cool) around the speedo, which I find REALLY boring and bland on my 2024

I can’t be the only one, but for me I got the car and love EVs for their quietness. All I want to hear is peace and the Burmester! There’s a calmness that I need before and after work. To be fair I’m using this as a daily and the pops, gurgles, and shifts can come from the other vehicles in the small fleet.

You're not, we just did our weekly 250 km drive, and I can only compare the Taycan to a Rolls in terms of comfort and quiet on the road (highway) and what I love which the Rolls can't offer is you're driving a fun sporty car that handles great. I turned off the "Electric Sport Sound" since to me it feels inauthentic to have speaker made car sounds. We enjoy having a quiet conversation in low voices, clear music, etc. Something I could NOT get out of my E63s wagon before - oh, and don't get me started about passing on one lane country roads - MAGIC!

The only thing I want to hear are the tires.
