After a flawless software update recently for my 2020 I figured I would try the plug and pray at EC , we headed to Squamish BC from Vancouver and arrived with 59% soc And 25 degrees C main battery. We plugged in at the 350kw station (no other cars present)
And it immediately connected ... swirled for 20 seconds and a credit card screen popped up demanding payment . I tried the same thing twice again then called EC help line , they informed me they see my a car and know it has the free three year account but cannot say why I cannot just plug in. My EC account has a balance and a valid credit card attached .
I ended up just using the Porsche connect app to initiate charge . It would go no higher than 80kw max then tapered off to 40kw at the end of 29 min... to 95% soc.
sad face emoji all around for plug and charge still for us here out west.
