Extended warranty dealer recommendations

I know this topic has been discussed quite a bit but was hoping for refreshed views if any.

Call it phobia, bad experiences, stubborness, etc. but I would like to pursue a Porsche branded Platinum coverage extended warranty for my 992 and Taycan (instead of the Fidelity one that has been widely discussed)

I have quickly realized that calling around a few dealers may be futile (especially around here in the NY Tristate area). Folks either don’t call back or more often quote very high prices compared to some of the quotes (some older) I see referred to around here

So if anybody has had good recommendations for the above, I would appreciate them.

Here is a recommendation that I got from someone on Reddit not too long ago… “Contact Robert Banes at Chandler Porsche in Arizona. I'm in CA but Banes undercut my local dealer (who sold me the car) by several k, and was a pleasure to work with.”

I don’t need an extended warranty yet so I have no idea if this is a good recommendation or not.

I ended up extending the factory warranty from 4 years to 6 years (via a CPO option; bought the car new). The cost was $4050 (!0% PCA discount was applied)

You got CPO option. Was this for a used Taycan you bought, or for a Taycan you leased and then bought?

neither..it was for a new Taycan I bought ..Dealer gave me the CPO option (which I did not expect) and I took it.

Good for you. CPO is Porsche warranty equivalent, better than Porsche vehicle service plan (which is third-party reimbursement).

I purchased my 23 Taycan new. My dealer classified the car as a CPO (2nd owner) with 44 miles on it, and gave me the additional two-year warranty (6 years) as a "discount" on the purchase.

I don't entirely understand it. The downside is the VIN info classifies me as the 2nd owner., which I suspect devalues the car.

The issue was the warranty period was reported incorrectly for the 2021 and 2022, so the information was adjusted, not the actual warranty.

I believe you read the warranty correction notice incorrectly. Here is what the email I received said —

What is the issue?
On page 3 of your Taycan or PHEV vehicles Owner’s Manual, in the section “New Car Limited Warranty Coverage Provided by PCNA”, the following is stated:

High-Voltage Battery Warranty – 80,000 Miles or 8 Years

However, the correct figure for this warranty coverage is 100,000 Miles or 8 Years.

BTW, I started this thread and thank you for some of the recommendations. I was indeed able to get a few quotes and found that the dealer (Porsche Main Line, PA) whom I purchased my Taycan from was more accommodative on costs even than Chandler (that was recommended here). After waffling a bit, I chose the 10 year/75 Porsche warranties for both the Taycan and the 911. The waffling was due to the fact that the 9 year/60K is meaningfully cheaper than the 10 year/75K (and No, they don't offer a 10 year/60K!). I chose the 10 year under the view that if needed, I could cancel at the 8-9th year and recover some of the difference since they refund pro rata

I did get quotes from 3 dealers + the Fidelity person often quoted here - don't know what is kosher to share here but can certainly provide more color via direct conversation if needed
