Began charging my 4S at home for the first time. EVSE is 40 amp Wallbox Pulsar Plus on 50 amp circuit with NEMA 14-50 receptacle. Car is at 40 % battery capacity. Car display says that it is charging at 8.7 kwh.

1. Is 8.7 kwh charging rate on car display good/normal for EVSE that theoretically charges up to 9.6 kwh?

For first 15 minutes or so during charging, I heard a faint high-pitched hum. It was most noticeable when I put my ear next to front wheel right/passenger side. Eventually the noise stopped.

2. What is source of noise? Normal?

3. Car display gives a time tonight that charging will be completed. Is that original completion time estimate normally good?

Yes 8.7kwh is normal, it may fluctuate depending on a few factors, but should stick to that range. The noise you are hearing is the car regulating the batter temp for maximum efficiency. You should charge to 85% (some would say 80%), not 100%, on a normal day-to-day charge for best battery conditioning (set up your timer to stop at 85%, by the time you want the car ready in the morning). The time to "complete" the charge the car is now showing, is to 100% charge, which you should only do if you need more distance for a long trip. Hope this helps.
