We’ve been in India for 12 days and left 23 Taycan 4SCT with family in Hampshire- Alarm went off - key would not open car - Porsche Tech arrived and said it was because car hadn’t been used. 10 days?? We left for 3 weeks in summer with no issues- sounds like BS - any thoughts?

Cold weather can cause probs with the small 12 Volt lithium battery such that when the 8 charging sessions from the big battery have run out the cut out of the 12 Volt happens sometimes proceeded by the alarm going off. I have a lithium battery jumper so don’t have to call out porsche assist to jump the bonnet open and then jump the 12 Volt - however only had it happen once in two years.
If you leave with family worth getting them to open car and start once a week which will re-set the 8 charging sessions.

This should not be a problem with 2023 models with updated software if storage procedures are followed even for a couple of weeks time.

I suspect SoC was low or something had been waking up the car to drain 12v such as the app or near by comfort access key.

I have left mine for longer many times in 18 months and never had an issue.

BS!

Something else draining the battery or indeed a failing battery.

What’s SoC ? Key is a long way from car and all properly locked.

I follow this recommendation from the manual when I leave even for a week, just a good practice.
SoC = State of Charge or the manual below calls it "charge level".

Thanks - My vehicle was left 12 days ago with 47% charge and had travelled 90 miles before parking so I assume 12v battery was fully charged.
