They told me the new gearbox is coming in 1,5 weeks and installation takes 3 days. Also they gave me a two week old Taycan with 50K € more worth in options to drive in as long as it takes them to repair it, so im Ok to wait a bit and put some miles on this car ?

This is one of the reasons I have an operational renting for this car. Everything is covered for the next four years. If I want I can buy it in 4 years. I don’t think I will. More because of warranty and having a new car. I would definitely extend the warranty for the entire ownership.
To each his own, I dont like the feeling of loaning/renting anything. That go's for the car but also the house or anything else for that matter. But I understand what you are saying.

Unlucky for sure. And I'd certainly consider an extended warranty, if you're thinking about holding onto the car for a significant period of time (e.g., has your heater failed?).

Generally speaking, it seems EV's should have less issues over the long-term and after the manufacturer's warranty, given less moving parts and systems in comparison to ICE vehicles. Still early days... with only Teslas (3 & S in particular) providing enough long-term volume data / experience to-date.
I like the car so much that im trying to hold on to it for 10 years, so even with the extended warranty i would be driving the car for 5 years without any. Never had any serious problems with my previous cars, so unless this is a really bad one im not to scared.

I didnt had a heater fail, altough i think mine works way worse compared to this one... I have to put it way higher then the number suggest it is, is that a sign its not working properly? I might ask them to check that as well.

I like your plan. I'm also hoping to enjoy my first Porsche and EV for many years.

And yes, I'd definitely ask about the heater - especially given several failures occurring and if you think the heating experience is much different than your loaner.

My instrument cluster packed up last year. Service said it was a £5.5k + vat if not in warranty. I would never own an EV not in warranty.
