Help - car completely dead - can't get into neutral for towing

My car spat out multiple red and yellow errors as being parked in my driveway - electrical system error, engine control error, motor control error, couldnt engage gears, parking brake not working. I managed to get it parked by reversing and then park did engage. When I switched it off and left it for an hour, the car was completely dead. I can open the frunk and the doors but I cannot get the dash to fire up and put the car in neutral.

We connected a trickle charger to the fuse panel inside the driver footwell but the car is still dead. Any suggestions?

Sounds like the 12v has failed with all those errors. If the goal is to reach neutral try disconnecting the 12v & use a power station / portable supply 12v to power up. If you don’t have one, perhaps roadside can dispatch, they usually carry one.

Sounds like the 12v has failed with all those errors. If the goal is to reach neutral try disconnecting the 12v & use a power station / portable supply 12v to power up. If you don’t have one, perhaps roadside can dispatch, they usually carry one.

Power is still there. I can open the trunk and the trunk, unlock the car etc but the pcm and main dash are completely off. So I cannot move the car to neutral

Called roadside back and they are dispatching someone who can deal with a dead Taycan. At least I hope so.

If the PCM is dark, it could be because the 12v is below required voltage even if doors & trunk operate.

The tow driver connected a charger to the fuse box for a good 15-30 mins and the PCM/dash would not come on at all.

I am out of suggestions, other than to check the 12v voltage after the charge. I have not heard of this failure before. I am suspect because the only known (to me) failure like this was the software update to fix the 12v issue.

I believe that Porsche and people in this forum suggest applying voltage to the 12v battery directly.
Idea is that there is a shutoff mechanism in the battery that may need to be reset in order for the battery to connect to the car.

However, if some items are being powered by the battery, the built-in shutoff may not be the problem.

This is a lithium battery. It basically works or it doesn’t. The voltage curve is flat. I’m guessing if the front trunk opens, the battery is good.

Tow truck is not here yet. First guy tried to charge from the front of the car but it didn't achieve anything. The next guy says he has a different charger which should work. Waiting to see.

Like you said, frunk opens, doors unlock, lights come on etc. But the dash and PCM are completely dead.

2nd truck showed up. Couldn’t get it going either. Connected his charger to the car for 10 mins but the dash and pcm are still refusing to fire. He thinks there is some issue with the software. Third tow truck has been ordered…

Of course, the Porsche dealer closed at 5 and haven’t been able to help

What a sags this is tunring into. In fairness, Porsche Roadside assistance have been polite and have correctly asked for trucks with the right equipment. But the responders accept the job without reading the notes. The third guy was on his way and verified he couldnt do it if the car would not go into neutral. He said I need a truck with a wheel lift and dolly.

Spoke to Truck number 4 and he said that he has done this several times with Taycans and he uses skates and drags the car on. Claims it is safe and won't damage the car. Porsche Roadside followed up with me unprompted as this has triggered an alert on their end.

Let's see if truck number 4 can back up his words with actions and not damage my car...
