So I picked up my RWD Taycan yesterday and what a blast this car is. I am not quite ready to say its more fun than my 911S - its a whole different animal.

I hope I can get some answers to some questions here as the dealership staff are not always the most knowledgeable.

1. Can you have the regenerative braking on permanently? It seems to shut off every time I restart the car. We are coming off a Tesla and like the feature. The Taycan's regen feature doesn't feel as aggressive as the Tesla but it still saves on brake pads.

2. Is it possible to set up a profile for my wife? If she is in the car and wants to charge on the EA network for the 30 mins free, does she sign up on her own and add our cc info? Will that bind her to the car? Are there other reasons why she should have her own profile on the car?

3. Are there specific personal features the car will remember other than for the seat?

4. I have the adaptive air suspension which I got in order to get the rear wheel steering, which is amazing BTW. I can turn this beast in the middle of the street with a ton of clearance left! But I am totally confused by the air suspension feature and the SA did not help. Is there any automatic dimension to this I need to turn on? It seems I can manually adjust and save settings for steep driveways, but what else? And it seems I'll bottom out somewhere before I realize I need it. How do others use it?

There are a bunch of us coming off December/January deliveries and maybe we could use this thread to help out each other!

1. Sadly not at the moment. Quickest way is to get into the habit of pressing and holding the regen button on the steering wheel every time you start up the car.

2. Easiest way to take advantage of the free EA charging is to set up plug and charge. Go into your charging setting, press the dotted line symbol on the bottom left side of the central screen and make sure Plug and charge is active. This way, everytime you plug into EA chargers, it should automatically link to your porsche account and start charging.

3. Almost every personal setting will be retained by the car. Once your wife sets up her Porsche ID, she can log into the car as herself by tapping the name on the upper right corner. This should bring up her own personal settings. Next time you're in the car just remember to log back in as yourself. Limited personal settings (such as seat or steering wheel position) is also linked to the car key. So make sure you guys use separate keys.

4. The air suspensions are always on and active. You can adjust the height of the suspension by tapping the car icon on the central display and go into ride height section. There is also a short cut that will raise/lower the car on the right hand side of the instrument cluster. You can also adjust stiffness by tapping the suspension icon right next to the raise icon or go back into car settings.

Enjoy!

#1 is disappointing. I heard other complaints about people that want their fake sound on all the time (which I did not want at all), so it seems this is not limited to regen. Just after posting this I went onto MyPorsche (which I was only using for TYD and saw how to add additional drivers). Thanks for quick response. There may be more questions!

Re. 1: even when the regen function is set at low or at off, most of the braking is still done by regeneration instead of by mechanical pads on discs action.

Thats good to know, but my wife will complain anyway that she prefers this Tesla Model 3 economy car!

Thanks for the link to the videos. When I was picking up the car and getting trained on it, the SA kept calling a guy named Paul whose last name seemed the same. Wonder if same guy...
