I am looking to chose between 2 2022 Taycans, both RWD and the same 20 inch wheels, premium package and the only major differences are:

1) Taycan 1 has ACC (adaptive cruise control) with coil suspension and the smaller battery

2) Taycan 2 has air suspension (no ACC), the larger battery, 19.2kw onboard charger and is also $8k more expensive

for my use case, the regular battery works for me and I have only test drive a 4s which has air suspension so don’t know how the coils will compare. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
#2. No brainer.

#3 For this kind of money, personally I would want both and I would look for one until I find it. The car that completely matches your expectations will show up. Why settle with less.

I have a CT. AS is standard. Can’t compare drive quality without. I did however need the lift function several times while on holiday.

ACC I use all days and a lot. I have had it on my past 4 cars.

Yesterday while on a road trip it stopped working. Just driving normally on ACC, sudden black screens for two seconds and poof no more driving assistance systems. Got a message all systems were down and couldn’t activate ACC or PID anymore. Fortunately came back after a charge stop. But I drove around for 45 minutes without ACC and it really annoyed me. I wouldn’t want my car without.

What would your ideal build contain? Once you figured it out, look around for one closest matching your ideal. There have been more Taycans, both used and new inventory, showing up lately around the country. There are even some RWD open allocations available if you're willing to order a 2023 and wait a few months.

I was going to order one but currently the premium package doesn’t include Bose sound system and the burmester is $7k.
My ideal build will be very similar to #2 but with the smaller battery

Sounds like the cost of the Bose sound system is to pay for the larger battery. Only you can decide if it's worth it. Keep in mind you will get some residual back from that additional cost when you sell the car. Also, if you can, compare Bose to standard system - a number of people on the forum were surprised how good the standard system was after test driving a car with it.

I searched the forum and most people said the base sound system was awful. Both cars do have the Bose sound system so the choose is really what am
I giving up by not getting the air suspension or paying $8k more to get the air suspension and the larger battery as a “throw in”

Have driven with and without air suspension - to me the ride and handling is better with it. Personally I have zero interest in ACC or self driving features in general so for me it would be #2. I think the cars with the small battery pack will be close to unsaleable in the future given peoples obsession over range.

My understanding is that the larger battery only provides 30 miles of extra range which is not impressive for the additional $6k in cost

I would not buy a Taycan without air suspension or the extended battery range.

As others have said, both these are critical for future resale values. However, if I was on a budget, I’d make sure I had the right Taycan or choose something else if I couldn’t get right spec

Not worried about resale value as I intend to keep for 3-4 years and it’s not like a 4yr old Taycan with PB+ will sell for $3-4k more than with PB given that the technology will be more advanced and charging network should be better here in the US so IMO availability of charging stations will be more important than range 4-5 years from now

Thanks everyone for your input, I decided to go with #2 (the one with air suspension and PB+) and I’m very excited. I will post pictures soon.
