I have a well specced CT4S, and honestly it is way faster than I need. A CT4 with even more options would have been much better value (although resale is a different matter.)

It also depends what standard equipment you get on the 4S (over the 4) in the US.

EDIT: I just looked up the power/acceleration figures, and didn't realise the 4 was closer to the base in performance than the 4S. As such I would lean towards 4S.

I choose a lightly spec'd CT4S (~$129k MSRP). I drove a base sedan and 4S sedan back to back and there was no comparison for me - the 4S was way faster. I was grinning ear to ear.

These cars are fantastic even in basic form. For me, I am all about the driving experience, so I have no problems skipping all the $500 options (headrest crests, powered port cover, etc.) that don't affect the drive.

All depend where, you are leaving and driving, I drove CT4, Sedan 4S, Sedan Turbo (Never drove the base Sedan RWD).
I am in South Florida...CT4 is plenty, flat straight road...
Used to be in Switzerland, Curvy mountain roads well in that case (if wallet allows) I would have gone for the Turbo or dreamed RWD with bigger motor and less weight but CT4 would have done the job perfectly!

Now if you want to compete Tesla boys at the light....by play station on wheel - Car philosophy are drasticaly different not better or worst different.
My personal experience is CT4 is very very comfortable GT make it even more with few too expensive option not necessarily needed buy the way...see my earlier post
Have fun

Honestly, that's a tough one, but it depends on what is more important to you: speed or comfort?

If it were me personally, I'd go 4S as I'm coming from a Model S and would greatly realize the difference in speed, so that would be really tough to give up for me, so I'd have to sacrifice the options in order to maintain the speed aspect. Also, some of the options you don't get now, you could potentially add later, depending on if they're FOD or not.

If you don't care about the acceleration, I'd go 4 loaded all day. If the ~5.8 second 0-60 is enough to make you happy and you aren't on ramp stomping it with a grin ear to ear, I'd happily give up the speed for the other comforts.

Can't go wrong either way!!

0 - 60 mph is 4.8 seconds for the CT 4

I ordered a well optioned CT 4. If I dropped the options I could live without it was still 15 K more and not worth it for me.

CT4 all the way - it's as fast as you'll ever need - you can lose your licence in both but CT4 for me is way fast enough so go with spec. over speed - most go badgeless anyway so ...............

I am coming from a Lexus LX570 as my daily driver, so I suspect even the base RWD will feel like a rocket. It is more FOMO than anything else. I have learned that 4S allocations are more challenging to come by, so CT4 it will likely be...

That was my debate. I chose the well-optioned CT4. No regrets at all. Plenty of speed. Had the Panamera Turbo. Been there done that with the speed. The technology package is a good value in addition to the premium package.

Were you able to test 4 vs 4S prior to making that decision?

For me (wrote it on the forum already), coming from a Tesla Model 3 Performance I am going back noticeably in speed going to 4 ST (Sport Turismo) but the entire ride is a much better experience and I have enough speed for decent overtakes etc. So more than happy with my choice.
