I too like it as is, but would ”second” anbove suggestions to add in the window tinting.
YEARS since I did tinting of a car!
1. Is it still called out in % tinting? So how dark?
2. Second row and hatch?
3. First row windows too?
4. Not pano because it already has variable light control and tint traps heat? This has been a debate with tinting a Rivian roof anyway.
5. Still unclear whether you risk cops/tickets? California anything goes?

How dark is a combination of what you aesthetically want, how much light/heat do you want blocked, and your own tolerance for potential consequences of CA law violation Here as a start to answering your questions, is CA law (as summarized by Google AI):

Yes, it’s still based on percentages. The lower the percentage the darker the tint.
I would recommend ceramic.

I’m In SoCal and California allows you to go as dark as you want on the rear windows and hatch.

There are limits on the front (70% which is basically visually unnoticeable) and it’s obviously up to you whether you want to abide by those percentages or not.
Personally, I have been far below those percentages (20%) and never had an issue.
Many if not most drivers I see in SoCal are beyond those limits as well.

Enforcement usually depends on location, driving style, type of car, other infractions, etc.

I see many cars with full limo all around, would not recommend on the front windows due to visibility, but haven’t had issues seeing through the rear personally this all depends on your eyesight lol

You also can’t legally tint more than the top 4 inches of the windshield in California either.

Some people seek a medical exemptions for tints to avoid tickets, if you have an optometrist write you a note stating light sensitivity, you can receive an exception from the DMV.

Most tint places have a broad range of options, just check them out in person and you’ll know what will work best for your taste and comfort.

“VLT” or Visible light transmittance is the measure of how dark the tinting is. Again so much personal preference, and/or willing to have LEO’s come visit your car, and/or candidly how good your eyes are as darkness approaches —for the older we are the less our night time vision typically is.

The lower the number, the darker it appears and the harder it can be to see through tinting in low light conditions/ I have moved from 20 VLT to 30 VLT as I have gotten older in my driver’s door glass, though I retain 20 VLT from the back side windows and the rear. Some light and are fine with a 5 VLT all around (called limo tint). Some have installed 5 VLT even in the front doors then changed it to a higher number because they had trouble seeing out at night.

Something I learned years ago is that if one stands outside two identical vehicles, one with a black interior and one with light interior, the one with a dark interior will seem to have a lower VLT, so you might wish to consider your interior color as part of your decision making.

Lots of good info in “parkslopedope”’s post.

Every piece of factory glass inhibit some light. Usually it is a small amount even if/when it appear clear. So a piece of factory clear class is often a VLT 0f 93 or so (again the higher the number the more light is transmitted through glass). I bring this up for a good window tinting show will have a light meter that will measure than and then ask you something like, “do you want actual VLT of 20 or what measures 20 net VLT?”

Couple of thoughts a s you learn more about this. How about going to a Porsche cars-n-coffee or meet and when you see one tinted as you like, asking the owner what is their amount of tint? And/or go to a good window tinting show shop and have them hold up different tints against your window to determine which ”works” for you.

For sure I will be tinting my 2027 Taycan to some amount, but as it comes with thermal/heat rejecting glass standard (Premium package), I will be asking these same questions myself at of shop owner who has over time tinted my last five vehicles, e.g., again greatly relying on his expertise and his holding up “samples” while I both look out through them from the inside and from the outside looking in. It will have the Blackberry and Chalk interior but not pano glass so I now have not\ idea what we will together figure out, then for him to install.
