It’s not perfect but it is amazing. Did your first family outing. Kids 6&8 in boosters and standard poodle (Ping Pong) in the back. Everyone has a blast and my wife really likes driving the e wagon to work everyday. The heated steering wheel and warming up instantly is a big plus for her and rear wheel steering is a must have. The kids love the acceleration and all our friends got a kick out of our spaceship wagon. It’s an amazing machine!

Connect app triggers the alarm (stopped using it) and our clock hour hand is off. But minor things we will work our. Waiting for our roof bars so I can get it ready for ski season and our first trip to Whistler. So pumped!!

my title is wrong. It’s amazing. So close to super perfect. Just quirks.

rear wheel steering is a must have.
Curious about this statement. I still have time to change my configuration and I did not order the rear wheel steering. Have you driven a CT with and without rear wheel steering? Why do you say it’s a must have? Appreciate any input you can share.

First of all let me qualify this by saying I have not tested the with and without RWS option and have seen/read many posts with people saying it’s a must have etc. A few things would lead me to disagree. Firstly only the Turbo S comes with it as standard. Even the new GTS model has it as an option with PTV Plus included instead.

Secondly if you look at the review in this thread: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/rbr-delivery-of-4s-cross-turismo.7451/ from someone who drives/reviews a lot of fancy cars..including having driven most versions of the Taycan he has not optioned it on his own vehicle.

My take on this is RWS is more of a nice to have than a must have. It gives you a better turning radius allowing easier parking…but let’s be fair if you don’t have it you’ll soon adjust like anyone does to how the car manoeuvres. It also gives a slight edge in stability in higher speed manoeuvres..but again I would argue it’s something that without it would not be detrimental to the overall driving experience.

Personally, it’s something at the bottom of my want list. PSP however is a no brainier for the cost.

What I expect you’ll find as with most options is those who have it will say it’s a must have and those without will say you can live without it. I think the fact the guy from the RBR reviews didn’t bother speccing it speaks volumes.

I would consider rear wheel steering a very nice to have option and ordered it for my ct4 hopefully arriving the end of Jan 2022. I test drove a Taycan 4s with RWS and in the twisting roads it felt more like (and better in some ways) than my 996 turbo with PS10 coilovers (recently traded in). On the twisties it felt as though the car handled like a smaller sports car. To me it is a great option for the price.

Rws reduces turncycle With 1m From 11 to 10m. Its ony 2 degrees compared to mercedes 10 degrees.

my current Mercedes Has 11m radius, and it’s not hard to park.

I optioned out of rws.

I owned a 4S sedan with it and now have a CT4 without it. I really don't notice much of a difference, but I live in Texas where we have huge parking lots and wide roads.

I think if I lived in Europe or a more urban/older area of the US where space is tighter and parking garages are more common, I would option it again. Otherwise, if your driving patterns/commute is without much complexity, it's not needed.

Hi all,
i’ve been fortunate enough to have tried all 4 varients…CT4, 4s, Turbo, Turbo S(both CT and Sedan). With and without the RWS.
when I drove the 4S with RWS my impression was similar to Jim’s comment above ..it felt very familiar to my 997. We optioned our incoming CT4 with RWS incl the power steering plus. Very simply because with both my wife and I will be using it for a daily driver. It was very easy to park for her ( and me too ?)and I liked the feel on the road…a good compromise. For us the CT4 has enough power, and with RWS is a great drive …slow or fast.
The cars without RWS were just as fun to drive, but I felt more understeer at speed, so if you get a chance, try them both.. Fun either way. ?.

I option all my cars with RWS now, I feel like at speed you can really tell especially around corners and on and off ramps.

even doing a U is easier. it makes the car feel a lot smaller

ohh.. I started a storm! I feel the RWS around town - feels like the car just turns faster and can feel the rear end shifting vs just being planted. I like it and glad I spec'd it. With any feature you really neeed to drive them back to back to really feel it. At the PEC LA we drove a RWD and Turbo which were that test, but we were so busy playing and less tight areas to really feel it.

so I had taycan loaner without RWS for a week while my CT4 with RWS was getting PPF. My garage is pretty narrow so one has to position well. I noticed big difference in navigating tight turns and small maneuvers to get into the garage between the two cars. With taycan I had to make sure the rear end was perfectly positioned as I enter the garage while with CT4 I was able to adjust it all the way to the end….

i don’t know if this helps but I feel like this was a good option.
