If you draw a line between the southernmost and northernmost points in England - Lizard point and Berwick-on-Tweed - the middle of the line is in Cheshire iirc.

Hell, Heathrow is massive, as evidenced by the half hour recently spent on a bus transfer between T5 and T3. (Either that, or the driver was confused - I swear I felt like we were driving in circles at times; must have been the ground-based version of waiting for landing clearance..)
