Lately every time I enter my car I get the message that the key fob battery is low. Even after installing a fresh battery I get the same warning. The car will operate normally but I'm sure something is a miss. My spare fob, which has a much older battery doesn't do this. Does anyone have any insight for this problem? Has anyone else had the same?

When I change the battery, it usually still shows that message the next 2-3 times/days I get in the car ... it should go away soon.

I get a message that says my keyfob isn’t detected, to move it around, so I just jiggle and it goes away. It’s weird because no other vehicle has ever had this issue.

How weird. I’ve never had a key fob issue. I wish we could go the Tesla route and be keyless and use the phone as key.

I had this issue too when using a fresh battery I had at home from a blister pack. Ordering a new battery made resolved the issue. Ie very fresh

I’ve had this problem a few times. I’ve tried everything including cleaning the battery and contacts to the battery but in the end I had to replace the battery even though the one I used came out of a new pack. From now on I will check the voltage on the coin cell before I install it to see if the battery is already lower than it should be.

Thanks. I hope you’re right 😊

Actually after replacing the battery and still getting the warning I did check the voltage of the battery. It checked good. I then checked the battery voltage of my other fob that hasn’t shown this warning and it was much lower. So ???

I haven’t had the problem for the last year but whenever I replace the battery going forward I buy a fresh battery and wash my hands well before I touch the battery or the key fob which I clean thoroughly with 91% isopropyl alcohol along with the new battery to insure there are no oils to cause conductivity issues. If the problem comes back then it will likely be the key fob itself. Hopefully the key fob is covered under the Porsche extended bumper to bumper warranty.
