First post to the forum.

Earlier this year I placed my order to join the Taycan community.

I originally had a delivery slot of early June. This has been pushed back a few times now and it is showing October 2025.

Is this fairly common with Porsche as with other cars I have ordered from new in the past it hasn’t happened to this degree. Even during the covid times.

Look forward to everyone’s input.

Thanks

I got mine in June 23 when originally promised in May 22 but I must admit I assumed the supply issues were long since sorted.

@J89taycan , do you have an actual allocation (dealer able to give you an actual Porsche allocation number), perhaps already frozen build, or even a VIN, or is the dealer stringing you along while on the waitlist? You are in the UK, so no issues with Trump tariffs, and transport is not that far away (heck, you could go pick it up from Germany yourself). So either Porsche can't even produce enough to fulfil the order queue, Porsche is playing games by purposefully limiting supply of cars, or the dealer doesn't even have an allocation to give you, so they just made up some estimated date to string you along. I've personally encountered such stringing along during the pandemic years when they had major supply chain issues, the honest dealers would just tell me "we have no allocations, no idea when we get them, there are x people in line in front of you" and the sneaky ones would tell me "you'll get a car within 6 months" and then "there's been a delay", until a year into it they'd just ghost me. The greedy ones took non-refundable ADM of $15K to just get on a wait list for an allocation, but when pressed admitted there were no guarantees I could even get the car (I told one I'd consider giving then $15K if they will put it in writing that if I don't get the my custom current model year Taycan before the model year changed, they will pay be back $30K - they balked at it). All kinds of dealers out there. I tend to buy from ones who are straight with me, not make shit up.

Thought it would be adding, delivery date has been moved forward back to almost it’s original - only 6-8 week delay.

much happier now.

thanks all
