Just traded in my Ford for a Porsche. I honestly loved my Mach E but was looking for something nicer. Found a great deal on a 24 Taycan 4S. Looking forward to learning more about the car with you.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions about the Mach E. Spent a ton of time on the forums there. Not sure if there is much Taycan crossover people but you never know! I had 3 Mustangs but down to two now.

Congrats on the Taycan 4S. The Mach-E is such a fun EV, so I can imagine it’s a bittersweet goodbye. We love to hear what you loved most about it range, tech, driving feel?

I would say the looks and driving feel. It’s one of the few good looking EVs out there and it drove great. Range was so so but I honestly never drove it far. In 4 years I got below 50% charge maybe once and never DC charged.

Tech was ok. Ford pieced the car together from the parts bin, and especially in the beginning there were so many frustrating bugs. 4 years later and dozens of OTA software updates later they got almost all of those bugs squashed though. The hands free Bluecruise worked awesome, but it’s highway only. Other places it was hands on (similar to active lane keeping).

Alright.
The Mach-E definitely has a strong personality, and it sounds like you really got to enjoy the driving experience without worrying too much about range. It’s good to hear Ford got most of those early tech bugs sorted out—OTA updates are such a game changer. BlueCruise sounds fun, even if limited to highways; I bet that makes long trips a lot more relaxing.

Very much so. Also great to eat a sandwich while driving. It has active eye monitoring so you do have to pay attention and keep your eyes on the road (which is a good thing).

The downside is that it’s only available almost exclusively on interstate highways. Everywhere else was hands on lane keep assistance (but only if you had cruise control on). Plus it’s a paid subscription. I got it included for 3 years for $600 total and they gave an extra 4th yr free. But after that it’s like $600/yr. Almost no one resubscribed at that price.

Especially since the hands on lane keep assistance is FREE.

Got it,
Eating a sandwich while cruising sounds like a solid perk! I can see why the subscription model for BlueCruise would turn people off, especially since the hands-on lane keep is free and works pretty well. $600 a year is a steep jump once the included period ends. At least the active eye monitoring adds that extra safety layer, even if it’s mostly highway-only.

I went from the mache Gt to the taycan Ct. The biggest downgrade was losing phone as key and bluecruise. It’s been a few years since I had the mache and I still miss those features. Porsche feels outdated in their technology. My husband has a lightning and his ota updates come with new features added all the time. Porsche is like..bring the car in and we will give you colored icons.

I would say yes and no as far as tech goes.

This list of things the Taycan has that the Mach E doesn’t have is much longer than the opposite.

I don’t even have all the options but here was a list I created-

Heads up display, ventilated and massaging seats 18 way seats. You can even turn the heated seats and ventilation on at the same time. Led matrix headlights. Air ride suspension with many settings and you can even set it to automatically raise based on GPS saved locations (for speed bumps etc). 4 screens including a passenger screen where they can access every setting in the system while you drive. Fully customized screen views (choose what you see where). A couple customizable buttons (can make the buttons do almost anything). Customized drive mode where you can pick throttle response, ride height, steering response, traction/stability control settings independently. Rear wheel steering. G force meter and built in timed track runs. Remote parking (car will park itself without you in it). The Bose stereo is significantly better than B&O and there’s even a better available stereo above the Bose. 360 cameras stay on at low speeds moving forward.

That’s just off the top of my head.

Just remembered another but not sure if I like it- the vents are set and moved electronically in the screen. Neat tech just not as practical.
