A couple months ago I held my hand up to help a user on reddit out with testing fitment\usability of a MagSafe phone holder for the Taycan.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so the feedback on the initial prototype was a bit picky looking back (as the prototype was pretty good to start with!).

A bit of an insight into what that looked like was:
  • The initial design used an apple MagSafe charger, which didn't play nice with my Samsung S24U, and the size of that charger differs from non-apple MagSafe chargers, so it wasn't possible to swap.
  • Cable routing assumed that you'd use power from inside the arm rest, so wanted to accommodate those who wanted to make things neater with this mod.
  • Fitment wasn't quite right, which meant a slight change to the sponge\rubber\plastic ring
Very happy to say that things have progressed and after getting the revised iteration today; It fits great, keeps with the styling inside the car, and the cable hides nicely in the gaps between the trim (See pictures).
The included charger comes in its own packaging, and fits in the holder VERY snugly... there's no risk of it staying attached to your phone when you remove it from the holder at all.

In terms of testing, I've done several 200 mile round trips on English pothole ridden roads, and its not squeaked, popped out, or had my phone fall off once. If you live in the UK, you know I've not been blessed with smooth perfect roads and this hasn't gone through hell!

Things to consider though (being nit-picky again!):
  • A downside of this sort of mount is that you lose one of your two cupholders. The phone mount fits very snugly, and its a 2 hand exercise to fit, so you'll not want to do that while driving.
  • Currently this only fits in the cupholder closest to the screen.. seems Porsche made the other one or two mm wider. Not a big deal though as your phone would get in the way of you opening your arm rest if you used the cupholder closest to it... but there might be other devices where that issue isn't present. I guess comment below if you'd want a second rubber\plastic ring to be included to use it in that way... but I doubt you'd want to.
Worth mentioning that I'm in no way affiliated with the chap or company who makes\sells these, and the only kickback I've had is to keep the prototype units I've been sent to help develop the product.

Looks really nice, but a little pricey at over 200 USD with shipping. Will keep an eye on this to see if they are able to reduce the pricing down the line - thanks for sharing!

USD $157 + shipping, and almost sold out -- we are a unique bunch.

I use the Anker Qi2 cooled car charger, 3D printed a cup-holder mount, and clamped it into that.

I ended up ordering one of these and, because the shipping was the same for one unit or two, I ended up ordering a second with the thought that if someone else in the US wanted one I could save you on shipping. If you are looking for one of these and want to save oni the international shipping feel free to reach out to me.

I got one myself, supporting local business since these are done in Switzerland.

Works well, the cable is a bit thick, so not so easy to shove in/out of the gaps of the center console.

Took a few tries to get it to go in the cupholder enough for the light to still be visible, as it kept slipping in sideways on the inside.

Once it's in, it's great, stable, no issues when cornering hard. Comes off easy if you pull on it, otherwise doesn't budge.

This is where I put my MagSafe charger for my iPhone - I like to be able to see the phone - using the same charger that I used on my Tesla.

Hi How are you getting on with the phone holder? Do you still have the second one available?

I also ordered one. Unfortunately I got a bit enthusiastic about the swivel aspect and broke the narrow connection point. The company was kind enough to ship me a replacement for that part and I've now got the unit installed. It's very easy to install, snug and removable if necessary.

I'm very happy with it.

I think the price is fair considering that a nice magsafe charger is included.
