I'd like to give back to this awesome community with this very minor hack. This only applies if you hate to carry the key in your pocket. I was always either losing it in the car (cup holder, side storage, seats etc) and almost always leaving the car forgetting the key, only having to return to grab it.

So I put it here, and its always within view so I don't forget it. I'm a creature of habit, now I have a place for the key that works for me. I haven't used this hack with launch control, so its possible the key would shoot to the back seat depending on the model of your car.

Why would you ever need to take the key out of your pocket?
Like I said, this may not apply to everyone. I personally don't like the feel of a key (or phone) in my pocket and even if I did keep it in my pocket and had a coat on, I'll immediately forget which of the six or more pockets it may be in (I'm at that age, I have "sometimer's disease). I was putting the key in the cup holder then forgetting it was there.

Mind you I am coming off driving a 911 for 12 years (and a 944 before that) where the key actually had to be pushed into a little slot on the left side of the steering wheel. So expecting the key to be somewhere near the wheel is ingrained in my memory. Now I just need to remember its on the right and not the left.
