I have a 2020 TTS that I purchased as a low mileage CPO a couple of months back. I almost always only use AC home charging via the PMCC but I took it to Electrify America today for the second time since I got the car. Today, just like last time, I plugged in the CCS plug and while I was then trying to open the Charge NA app to start a session, and before I could even locate the charger I was at on the app, the station initiated a free charge and started charging. Both times the same. Maybe just a coincidence and twice a pattern does not really make, but I’m not complaining!! Great experience both times. Hope I didn’t just jinx it. I see no record of either charge in the charging history section of the Charge NA app. Just an FYI to the group. Kind of strange (in a good way).

EA ofter offers "free" charging if the station is in "free" mode - you can tell it's not plug&charge because your account will have no record of this charging session in your charging history - it's nice when EA is in "free" mode - it simulates "plug&charge"

Got it. That makes sense why I see no record of the charge sessions. What’s interesting is that someone at another stall a few spots down was trying to swipe their credit card (repeatedly) so only certain stalls must have been in “free mode”.

if payment processing is offline or having difficulty the station will switch into “free” mode - which is one of the _FEW_ things I like about EA - in this case they are optmizing for being able to charge rather than preventing charging because they can’t deal with billing right now.
