Yep, that's what I saw. Now, who knows if that's an inflated price for PCNA, or if it's the same as what a normal person would pay for an out of warranty fix. But at that price, you're getting close to the market value for older Taycans. Glad the battery warranty is 8 years.
It’s not a real cost IMO. Someone on this forum showed a list of charges to replace a full Taycan standard battery at $57K. I asked my service advisor back in late 2023 what it would cost to repair/replace the battery and he said 12 hours to get the battery modules out and another 12 hours to put it back & test it. I labor alone if you only replace a few defective LG battery pouches or you replace all of them is fundamentally the same. PCNA charges $300 to $350/hour for EV service labor so the just the labor cost is $7200 to $8400 just to get the battery modules out & back in.
I expect the actual cost of battery modules will come down over time which I hoping results in a full battery replacement through Porsche not costing more than $35-40K assuming they give at least a 4-5 year warranty on the repairs instead of their normal 2 year 24K miles warranty.
If they aren’t competitive then there will be licensed 3rd party battery repair/replacement shops which will likely charge $20K or less for a full replacement with a 2 to 4 year warranty. Porsche has to be careful here. Should they charge even $50k after 8 years or after 100K miles then it will send a signal to the marketplace that Porsche EVs are disposable.
I just can’t imagine VW group allowing this impression on EV’s to become a reality. It would be devastating to Porsche as a premier brand.

People say EV battery replacement is so expensive relative to ICE cars. I’ll say this, your bill for a battery replacement is about the same bill Audi USA got when my 2023 RS6 engine let go. It needed a full long block replacement and both turbos with fewer than 10k miles on the clock.

This was about 3 years ago and the bill to Audi USA from the dealer was about $45k.

Fun fact: I got the last EA825 crate engine in the US at that time. It actually had a Porsche part number when the crate showed up, so I viewed that car as the spiritual successor to the RS2.
