My Taycan "sneeses", is it normal?

I picked up my Taycan GTS Sport Combi (MY 2023) three weeks ago. I've noticed that it makes a noise that can be best described as a sneese from time to time. I have so far only heard the noise while driving around in the city, and almost always while coasting or braking. The noise seem to come from the rear of the car, I have no idea if it's also audible from the outside.

Do you more seasoned Taycan owners recognize this? The only thing I can think of that the noise comes from when some valve or something releases air pressure from the suspension.
Same here. Happens daily. More audible at lower speeds. Will ask dealer next time I am there...

It is more pronounced with GTS tuning. If you want to get technical, keep reading haha.

The auxiliary volume valve timing is much master on a GTS. The "sneeses" or "pssshh" you hear is the compressor and discharge solenoids cycling air in and out of the bags. GTS have faster valve scheduling; therefore it's louder and more pronounced. Car wants to get to its target height, and get there quick.

For example, after you park, turn off the car, and get out, GTS suspension is much faster to adjust than a non GTS, both at which the time it takes to adjust the height and the time it takes to start the leveling process.

I'm not sure I believe this - I've never heard this about GTS suspension being different, only that it's set at a slightly reduced height.

I have a MY23 GTS ST and I've never heard any noise from the air suspension (unlike my previous Panameras which would chug and wheeze all the time).

Hey Neil, I think it's great to questions things. Anyone can spew LLM nonsense on forums these days.

Can you be more specific about what you mean by you've never heard about GTS suspension being different? Do you specifically mean you haven't heard about the valving being different, or is it that the only thing about having GTS suspension is that it is lower?

As far as a GTS being lower, you're absolutely right it is lower. But if you’re comparing that to a Cross Turismo, then that would make all non GTS models ALSO lower. If we’re only comparing the Sportlimousine models (this is the designation for the sedans) and Sport Turismo, it’s also fair to say that a GTS isn’t actually lower. The ride height targets are the same across the board for all air suspension equipped non CT models, that is base, 4S, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S. Please fact check me on that though, it might lead you down a rabbit hole and find out more things about how all the suspension pieces/tuning fit together. Bright side is you’ll enjoy your car even that much more!
