What do you mean, is what true? As mentioned in the article nothing has been mandated yet. " the federal government’s announcement that plans are underway to mandate a minimum sound requirement in electric and hybrid vehicles in Australia " LOL surely you know how governments work, they lend and ear to something and make promises that may or may not ever be fulfilled and we face far more deadly things in our daily lives in Australia than silent EVs. I think we still adhere to the common sense approach down here 'look both ways before crossing the road'.

Does the Taycan have the component omitted from the Ozzie market or not?

- Why not? I really want to start journey into EV and we consider only Porsche. AFAIK Taycan is 911 replacement.
- I got compatible GTS specs.

So no ACC? PTV+ and sport seats?
Taycan is nothing like a 911 replacement. In so many ways they couldn’t be more different.

I have no idea, presumably not as it makes no noise beyond the faint sound of wheels turning etc unless you turn on the optional sports sound. As it is not required here (yet) it doesn't seem to be a standard fitted feature on any Australian delivered Taycans hence why I said that think the sports sound is a useful option to add, I wasn't aware of the requirement outside Australia to have that low speed external warning noise.

Any vehicle here though gets hit with an extra 33% luxury car tax on any vehicle over about 40,000 GBP /$47,000 USD :-( The less extra we have to pay for on top of the base car price the better
