hey guys, glad to be here. Thought I chip in with a couple of issues I noticed throughout the first 1000 kms (figure 620 miles or so) in a Taycan RWD. The car is purchased new in Eastern Europe. Important note - I do have a certain degree of being a control freak when it comes to cars, so I notice literally everything.
1) The HUD tends to reset itself. I configure it to be two-sided, even save the settings with the memory seat option (not sure if it does anything other than seat but oh well), but it sometimes ends up resetting to one field only. No pattern here, happened frequently throughout the first week, but now seemed to stabilise.
2) Front parking sensors (the car does not have a 360-degree camera system, probably the only option that I miss) seem to detect phantom obstacles periodically. The dealer claims they can catch the number plate holder, but this is unlikely as was adjusted already (see picture). Happened a few times, and resolves itself after the car is restarted/locked-unlocked. The front of the car is PPF wrapped, but the issues there have been ruled our, all is tidy and unobstructive for the parking sensors.
3) Build quality - at times, subpar. Some noises in the interior (the area where the sport chrono clock is, it seems), and some panel gaps outside might have been more even. The absolute highlight that I found from the factory - the carpet in the driver footwell was only partially tucked under the accelerator pedal body (e.g. was bubbling). Easy fix, but why oh why it has even left the factory like this? (see picture)
4) Even though the car has manual charging ports (in Eastern European winters, ordering the fancy ones is a death sentence), once I randomly got a "left charging port faulty" or smth like this while plugging in my home charger. Restarted the car, the error cleared, and never appeared again.
It has been, otherwise, enjoyable, but I cannot get rid of the feeling that I am participating in a large population-wide beta test
Anyhow, hope this contributes to the discussion. Cheers!
