Tried launch control in both Sport and Sport Plus yesterday and again today, but it will not engage.

Outside temp was 31 degrees Fahrenheit and the battery temp was only 37 degrees. Safe to assume launch control does not work in the cold with the battery pack?

I’m in Wisconsin and can’t say I’ve ever had an issue using launch control - no matter the weather. Something might be wrong with your car. Others hopefully have a more definitive answer for you

I would believe near freezing battery temp would prevent high-discharge rates required for launch control - but once the battery warms up I would expect no problems.

37 sure is cold. Even if you could activate it, I don’t think you’d be thrilled with the result.

agreed - cold tires don’t offer much grip

Not just tires, battery at 37F is probably in limited peak power mode even for normal driving. Does the Taycan show the power limits (peak delivery and peak regen) like Tesla (when the battery is too cold or too hot)?

It does show it, and I assume it changes based on battery temperature, but I’ve never paid much attention, so I can’t be sure.
Pic from google below. The thicker gray bars in the radial gauge are the max and do change.

Separately, Porsche says it’s “power” (at least the one on the right) but I’ve always thought it (both) was just current. I’d have to watch it more to make a better determination on that.

So it sounds like we’re in agreement that launch control is designed not to engage when battery conditions are cold and this is by design?
