Got my car last friday and enjoying it.

There are some things to sort out and one of them is that I think regen braking is not working.

When I activate the regen button, or put it into sport (plus) mode I get a little bit of regen (green line) when lifting the throttle. When I apply the brakes the green line doesn't increase. I thought it might be a setting issue, but can't find any that needs to be adjusted.

Am I missing something?

Totally normal. There are some threads on this already. Its for bedding in the brakes. The car automatically starts regen breaking when the algorithm is satisfied :) for me it was 1100 km. I have seen people saying it started at 600km (dont know what that is in freedom units).

Just drive it, use the breakes properly, and suddenly you have regen.

Btw, the first start of the day will allways also be 0 regen until the breakes are «cleaned».

I am going to venture a guess that you're coming from a tesla.
the regen in the taycan will be very unlike any other car's regen, you cannot one pedal drive the car, nonetheless there is some regen going on when coasting, a little more regen happens when you apply the breaks lightly to slow the car and only when you bring the car to a full stop will you be using the brakes.

Just want to also add what SOC are you starting with?

Good point. If you charge to 100% i would guess that you dont get regen before the SOC drops. But i have never been above 95% soc so i dont know. But someone in here can probably confirm this.

Thanks, first time I didn't do a search because I thought I was pretty familiar with all the topics and discussions on this forum. Seems there still is more to learn.

Absolutely no Tesla fan and therefore never owned one, like the concept and technology, but not the car.

I also don't like the one pedal driving with excessive braking. I just like the more sporty driving where you get sort of a engine brake feeling.

Actually I don’t have full regen until the battery drops below 90%. If you look at the power meter you will see where the regen (and power) maximums are. At 85% you start with max regen, but somewhere above 87% or so the regen is there but limited. This is normal for all EVs.

correct.
at a very high SOC there is no place to put the energy from the regen so the car will not allow any regen. think of it as a sack that you use at the supermarket, when it is full to the brim you can't put any more into it. same concept with a battery at a high SOC
