I’m in the process of buying my second taycan but not sure which warranty to take. The car is from an independent and the Porsche warranty has expired so I’d need to pay the £400 inspection then the £1200 a year for the warranty should it pass the inspection. An independent warranty quote (no inspection required) is here for comparison.
There’s a 90 day period I’d have to wait once the car is purchased before I could even start the OPC warranty process but as the car is being bought from a dealer selling it on behalf of his friend on a sale or return basis I could ask the owner to get the 111 point inspection done and take out the warranty at my cost then transfer it to me immediately.
What would you do ?

I'd get the cheaper Porsche warranty via the seller getting the 111 point check, if they refuse to get the check I'd find a car with Porsche warranty. £10k limit for a Taycan seems low especially relating to the battery. You are right to get a warranty, I've owned 2x Taycans over 5 years, both from new, and averaging a warranty claim every 6 months.....

The battery warranty is separate from the “normal” warranty and stays with the car regardless of owners. Also I’d be paying for the inspection myself
