I wonder if others have had this issue too?

About every fourth time I start up the car I get some kind of message, or the automatic-startup upon entering function fails, or some function, sometimes a very IMPORTANT function, fails. Two days ago I was about to pull into my garage, and the front camera was not working. (Don’t even get me started on the Rear Camera view!) I use it with marks on the floor and a center mark on my spitter to precisely position the car in the limited space. I saw a little camera icon with a red slash through it on the surround view. The following day I used the cameras, and the front AND the SIDE cameras were dark! A day later suddenly everything worked fine. I tried turning the camera system on, off, change the view, shut down/start up, nothing fixed it In the moment. Next day: normal.
Another glitch: several times, over the last year, I’ve had a red message saying “INSTRUMENT CLUSTER NONFUNCTIONAL: SEEK SERVICE IMMEDIATELY”. Last week I lost functionality of the sound system. No XM, no FM, nothing but a quiet little digital buzzing sound, with no volume control. The GPS based auto lift function rarely works (though it does seem a little more reliable after the latest firmware update). I had two incidents where the whole center screen operating system never booted. It just showed the Porsche logotype, pulsating like it does, but never resolved. Once it said collision warning system and park distance systems were non-functional and i was instructed to seek service. Last week after I got the car back from the brake line recall (and some system updates) I got a message two days after service, that the “brake fluid is low: seek service immediately!” Brakes worked just fine, message notification disappeared from the list leaving just wiper places and cabin filter change advisories. It seems like 1 in 3 start-ups show some kind of minor malfunction, and one in 20 a major one.
I’ve described all of these to my service rep’ and after they check the car, I get “all systems are functioning normally” (I imagine that said with a German accent)
Anyone else have these frequent glitches? It’s worrisome. Some have been rather dire! Brake fluid, instrument cluster, safety systems…
These are NO JOKE! But the quality of the digital aspect of Porsche Engineering IS a joke.

Anyone see this?

With the cameras failing there is a TSB about it and it requires to replace the cameras and the harness under warranty, do some searches here it mentioned few times - it's taking long time, my car (the 21 4S) was twice at the shop already during the holiday and it's still not fixed because they ordered the wrong parts for it...

Wow, thank you SO much for this. It’s good to know there are others with some of the same issues, and that they are known issues! I’ve forwarded the TSB link to my dealership service department people. I’m not optimistic, but it’s a start.

MAJOR UPDATE!

This morning I will pick up my ST GTS from the dealer, after 8 days in the shop. I showed them a colle of pictures of the glitches I’ve had so many of, and described many more.
After some two hours of conversation with the service manager and the service advisor, they took the car in and ordered some huge wiring harness. Apparently it includes new camera wiring, as the service bulletin linked above instructed, but there was more!
The service advisor (we are talking Santa Barbara Auto Group Porsche Dealership) had told me, this SHOULD address all of the wild unpredictable odd random glitches I’ve been having.
I will follow up with another update in a couple of weeks. We shall see. I am dubious, but these cars are SO complicated, they could be right.
I wonder if the fact that mine is among the very first GTS’s in America might be an explanation. New version growing pains? Could be. I feel it’s a combination of hardware(wiring?) and software (flawed update or OS?) issues, so time will tell me more.
Let’s hope for perfection! I’ll settle for great.

By the way, I learned in a YouTube video that we can re-boot the operating system simply by pressing with TWO fingers at the upper right corner of the main center screen. It will offer options, but be sure to select “reboot”, not update or the other one. Seems fast too. This is a fix for the system not booting, which has happened three times in my car.

Now a few weeks after the major wiring harness replacement, Ive had zero glitches, except for a more seldom occurring failure of the comfort-entry auto-start feature. It fails about one in five times. My driver seat has failed to return to the set position only twice. It’s a minor inconvenience, but: Zero would be nice for a $170k vehicle, don’t you think?
