PCM 6 Update Oddities

I am still getting random routings from the nav system pop up while I am driving. I also get random messages from apple podcasts

Have you checked 'Smart Route' hasn't been enabled in the PCM?

Since I got my Update,
PCM data transfer is fidgety, but only when I listen to Internet radio…..

On several occasions, I will transiently loose LTE connection for a few seconds with the double horizontal opposing arrows slashed (then Apple Music , Spotify and Internet Radio icons grey out), and it returns after 10-15 seconds.

None of this happens if a listen to Apple Music, or FM radio. (Spotify has not been working since Update implementation…..).
Before the Update, I NEVER ran into this kind of glitch.
Got it to the dealer with no success……

That's the 'smart' part - it tracks where you regularly go and determines this is something you need to know (constantly). Took me two weeks to figure it out and was my own fault as I switched it on post Update thinking it was something useful and new (it turned out to be neither)!

Was the rattle the one that seems to be coming from the ac vents/ac screen? I have that and it’s mildly irritating. Would love for it to go away.

No. The 2 sources of rattle I have is when I place a big cup into the cupholder and from the cover between rear-view mirror and windscreen.

This is missing on my PCM. Did you do something to activate it?

Do you have better hardware?

Try connecting your Android phone to the car via the USB-C cable. That should trigger a message asking you for permission to enable it. Double check to see if Android Auto is installed on your phone too.

I tried this, also disconnect and reconnected my phone. I also checked Android Auto is installed on my Galaxy S21 Ultra. Phone too old?

Is Android Auto (AA) enabled on your phone?

Is Android up to date software wise on your phone?

Does AA appear on your PCM but greyed out?

Does it work with a wired connection?

I have an S9+ which is older than your phone and works perfectly.

Try going to the "Device Overview" and see if Android Auto is greyed out for your phone there. If it is, try pressing it and it should try to reconnect. On occasion my car and phone gets stupid and I have to press it to reconnect.

I think the first time you have to connect with the cable I believe. After that it is wireless

I just got the PCM 6 update (took dealership just about a day). Most everything seems to be working and I like the new interface. However, I noticed that the front fog lights are now no-ops. Rear work and the console shows fog lights to be on.

Would welcome any suggestions other than returning immediately to the dealer (200 miles away).

Taycan doesn't have front fog lights only rear.

Front has daytime running lights, dipped, main and indicators. Depending on headlight option you may also have cornering lights.

No kidding??? That's very strange because I thought I used them successfully and quite visibly when driving in foggy weather. I have the base headlight option, btw. Thanks very much for this information.

The standard lights (LED) will illuminate in poor weather (not always when it's foggy) and if you have PDLS+ the beam will be dynamic and adapt to the weather conditions.
