PCM versus other systems

I know we have all complained about our Porsche PCM system but I have to admit that overall its pretty damn good compared to others. Specifically I just purchased an Audi Q5 S line Premium with pretty much all the options I could get. With that said the dash is pretty much like the Taycan but when it comes to the PCM there is no comparison to our Taycan. Yes it's a nice interface but I feel I am back in the 80's when I use the interface of the Audi compared to the Taycan. At least this is true for the US market Audi Q5.

From the one I played with on my test drive, I think the design and functionality of the latest PCM upper screen is just fine. I don’t have any complaints there and think the layout is relatively simple. I do think some of the complaints have been more on the stability of the system, which I think has finally reached an acceptable state with the latest update this summer

I will say that the part I might redesign would be the lower screen area. It probably would have been nicer to cut the screen in half, keeping the top half with the quick shortcuts and lesser used defrost/recirc controls on the screen, and moving stuff like the heated/cooled seat buttons, volume control and temperature/fan to physical controls instead of the bottom half of the screen

Currently half the space is taken up by a writing area that I doubt anyone uses, and the battery/charging info is simple enough that it can be displayed in a screen half the size

I agree....My Jaguar's tech is horrible. Don't have my Taycan yet, but the wife's Cayenne S PCM is on a different level.

The only system I've found better than my Taycan's is my BMW's iDrive 7. My jeep's system is snappier but no wireless carplay, only hardwired.
I don't have any complaints about the Taycan's software, though. Gets the job done.
