So, I have not seen this mentioned yet, perhaps I am just lucky? :swear:

This has happened about a dozen times, it is a metal clink/ping sound that seems like it is pinging off a aluminum, hollow bottle. The only thing I can think of is this is the air-ride?
It has happened in the following situations:
1. after parking and getting out of the car......random time intervals.
2. After starting up and switching to something other than 'normal'
3. Happens both, when on/off.
4. Has happened both when in/out of the vehicle.
5. Has happened both stationary and when starting to move.

Now, this last part has happened 3-times. Each time, it was startling and I needed to look around to assess what happened.
1. the noise is accompanied with a shimmy/shake of the car (sort of side-to-side quick shake).
2. Second time it felt almost like the car lurched, like an invisible hand pushed it, but car wheels did not move.
3. Third time, this last week was the most shocking, sound accompanied with the rear of the car feeling like someone slightly rear-ended me at same time invisible force pushed the rear up and then settled back down quickly.....I literally thought I got almost rear ended, but with no crash sound.

All times, there was no other vehicle involved, it was almost like I had 'switches' on a '68 Impala, with 15" Dayton's, cruisin' down Crenshaw Blvd.

I admit, I have dismissed this in the past as perhaps an over/under pressure issue with the air-ride as it settled or charged up.....however, these last 3 incidents are really starting to get me wondering.

Has anyone else had anything of the sort happen to them?

There was another issue reported that was root-caused to a crimped/blocked air line to one of the air suspension dampeners, or possibly between the pressure canister and the dampeners. I know that while driving (especially after turns or acceleration or braking), when changing modes, and when parking, there is some sort of pressure blow-off that seems to come from the back of the car. Very subtle in my case. If that valve or an air line is blocked, maybe the blow-off or control isn't so subtle. All that said, I haven't a clue what to do about it, if that was indeed the case.

am I really the only one that this is happening to?

......not that I wish this on others, but if that is the case it might actually be better than this being a larger issue (then it might be a design flaw). Whereas, if it is only me, I am hoping that it is something like @NC_Taycan stated and it is a small fix with an actuator, valve, or pressure/release mechanism.

I guess the good news is that air suspension is not that complicated, so the root-cause can really only be a couple of items.
- seals,
-pump
-valve
-hoses
-ECU
-air tank

not much else to it, right?
