I have noticed on a few occasions that the A/C seems to switch to ECO mode (MY24 4S). The actual settings do not change, it is the humidity and temperature of the air being delivered that is not normal (to this vehicle) air conditioned air. This has occurred several times in the last few months. I originally thought that the AC was being diverted to cool the battery as I first noticed this after a DC charging session with the battery temp above 102F. But now it is happening when cruising on the highway with the battery temp pegged at 89F. My car was just diagnosed during a service visit and no codes were detected. It seems like a faulty thermostat that is indicating a lower cabin air temp that actually exists.

I never experienced this during my three years of driving experience with my MY21.

Is this something that others have experienced? Is it normal?

The only time I would expect this to occur is when switching to Range Drive Mode (unless pre-configured to ECO Plus).

If this isn't the explanation then sounds like a failing component unfortunately.

Is it possible that your heat pump has been recalled? Mine was recalled and it was replaced (even tho it worked fine)

The only open recall as of last week is the brake line recall. Truthfully, this is perplexing as it works most of time.

Ok random thought time. Try using your secondary Porsche ID and key - this trick used to sort random software glitches on the PCM in the early days when Range mode speed settings disappeared.

I notice sometimes (especially after fast charging) my AC only blow warm air instead cool AC, even the ventilated seat is blowing warm air as well. In this case problem solved by turning off the car, lock and unlock the car to restart it. Idk what happened tho but it happened few times

@FlyingPoint (or anyone else that experienced similar symptoms), just wondering if you ever found the cause of intermittent warm AC air. This weekend, similar situation happened. I was driving normally on local roads and freeway and AC was on with cold air (both in auto and manual air) and then the air started to blow warm and wouldn’t get cold. After turning off the car and restarting, it was perfectly fine. I just got the battery/module serviced with reprogramming.

Weekend weather was in the 80’s and sunny. AC set at 64 or 65f degree. Both front fans are running and spinning. Battery was about 65%. I figured it’s got to be some sensor or software and not any Freon leak since it gets cold.

I'm assuming it's more like a software problem i guess?

I don't think it's a software problem. I think it is intentional to shield the battery from higher operating temperatures as a result of DC charging. My previous Taycan (MY21) did not do this, ever.
I now shut the car down for a few minutes after DC charging. This seems to bypass the software. The last time I charged the battery was at 105F. I shut the car down for a couple of minutes after charging and A/C blew very cold air for the remainder of my drive. My bet is that PAG has put their battery warranty exposure over passenger comfort.

Thanks for your thoughts on this. Will observe and see if there's some patterns to this. The fan does seem louder (running faster) during charging after the reprogramming. So, perhaps PAG put some extra measures to keep the battery cooler.
